I purchased this as well and certainly is in beta stage....but I do like what I see so far.  I have only played using the 3-click method but I really like it and can control my shots for the most part.  It has a ways to go and if they add more robust single/career play options, I can easily see this being a good game.  Although I haven't put a ton of time into it yet, it just feels better to me than the Golf Club did.  We'll see how it turns out but I think I will easily get my $19 out of it.

There was an update a week or so ago and another is coming very shortly.  I've been playing this exclusively lately.  If I read the tea leaves there may be a change before final release on the putting distance meter on three click.  I have to say I like the putting much better than I thought. I'd like it to stay as is but whatever they come up with I'm sure it will be pleasing.

If you're on the fence about this I should add the $19 price fee is for the beta version and those that buy in will of course get the final as already paid.  From what I understand once the game goes live the price will be an additional fee for the peeps that haven't taken it for a ride.

For the folks that have it experiment with the camera angles this game although in it's infancy has much to offer the golf simmer and has already improved since release.

Edit, update later today.. Nice list there.  :)

Perfect Golf Update 1.2.1.4 Scheduled for Release Feb 18, 2015 (End of Day)

February 18 - Perfect Parallel

We are pleased to push this significant update out to all our Early Access participants. We appreciate your patience as we continue to improve the game. The update will be released later today (Feb 18, 2015). We wanted to get this out to allow everyone to see what is coming before the updates start to come through

Please Note due to network improvements people using 1.2.1.4 who try to play online with people using 1.2.1.3 will experience game issues and disconnects. We will endeavor to put in a check in future releases for you

Please note we have removed the different sized snap spots on the swing meter. This does not mean you have lost your aids, we just felt that it was easier to hit the snap with a straight line. The aids work exactly as before.

Listed below are all the things included in the update. We are pleased to push this significant update out to all our Early Access participants. We appreciate your patience as we continue to improve the game.

What is the single player like? Is there anything like the PGA Tour?

That's what I'm wondering.  Is it just single courses or is there some kind of tour?

I know it has/will have CourseForge, but what courses are currently included with the game?  Looked for a list, but maybe I missed it...

After looking through the forum, it looks like there are no AI players?  So single player, would just be me on the course?  Are there plans for adding AI players?

...wonder if my 2.66 Core2Quad and GTX 750Ti would be able to handle it.  ???

Hi guys,

Career mode is in the plans.

Read or add your thoughts --> http://www.perfectparallel.com/topic/853-please-a-career-mode/

There's a very good interview on Operation Sports with Andrew Jones.

If you have 24 minutes to listen they have some very interesting things planned.

http://www.operationsports.com/news/827922/operation-sports-podcast-4-perfect-golf-interview-with-andrew-jones/

Course included in the game are
Shadowlands-
Crystal Pines
Willow Heath
which are all fictional courses

and Massachusetts CC, Illinois CC, and Southampton Links which I believe are real courses but may be renamed. I believe Massachusetts CC is TPC at Boston, not certain.

If you listen to the interview Andrew says they have a partnership to make courses for the PGA Tour to be used during their telecast and are working on licensing.  IIRC he also said in the interview they already have like 50 courses made and will be releasing a couple more during the beta process.

Have fun!

Sweet!  Career mode is what will bag me; otherwise I'm pretty satisfied with World Golf Tour, and it's free.

I just bought this by accident! :D

They had an update a week or so ago that said something along the lines of "it's finally here, thanks for your patience blah blah" which I took to be a release announcement, but it was actually just a patch.  I don't generally buy early access games.  Oh well!

Happily, though, my first (very brief) impressions are rather positive.  It's quite an attractive game and runs really well even on high settings on a PC with integrated graphics.  I'm not a golf expert by a long shot but I seemed to have all the tools I needed at my disposal.  Within just a couple of minutes I was controlling my shots reasonably well, using the three click system we've all come to know and love over the years.  There's a cornucopia of options, and you can use realtime weather and lighting and such, along with at least half a dozen types of shot replay.  You can even set the size of the "comet trail" that follows your ball.  You automatically join the lobby when you launch the game too, a feature I always enjoy in games, although full offline play is supported.

I haven't investigated the single player options much, having only played a few holes in solo stroke play to see what it was like.  I'll post more thoughts later if anybody is interested.

It's eminently playable already if you want to dive in, mate.  However I will let y'all know when it goes gold. :)

I have to throw a little bit of a bullshit flag on this one.

I have been following this game for over a year, and I would like to share my take on this one.

First, the game itself plays pretty good, and I suspect, at some point it will be as good as Links 2003, my favorite golf sim.

But..there are problems. ONLY seven courses, with none added for several months. Promises, promises, and more promises, and very little to show for it.

The Unity 4 engine that was used to develop this game is being replaced, apparently, by the Unity 5 engine, which basically means a complete re-write of the code for the game.

The Course Forge was supposed to be free, and provided to all the users months ago. It still is a fantasy, and I suspect will always BE a fantasy, as certain parts of code that the course forge is based on is copywrited, and cannot be given away. This brought to a screaming halt any new courses.

There hasn't been a new course issued for many, many months. Seven courses, ONLY, is a show stopper. Worse still are the fanboys on the steam forum that are promising the moon, and singing to high heaven the praises of the game. I'm from Missouri, and you have to show me. THEY have to show me a hell of a lot more than no career, and seven courses...even if the gameplay is good.

If you want a better golf sim, look up David Koch sports.

If your into a great golf strategy/simulation game versus arcade/highly graphical game, I 100% agree with this statement.....APC Golf has been my most played game since it was released a couple of years ago.....with each version, just gets better and better.  They just released the course Chambers Bay this past weekend so you can play along with the US Open and get frustrated like the real golfers are this week:)  All their golf products are on sale this weekend so if your at all interested, now is the time.....plus this company offers a full 30-day money back guarantee so if your unsure if you would like it, little risk to you since you can return.

Dennis, I haven't been following Perfect Golf for long at all, but from what I've seen it looks like there are two more courses about to be released.  Work was slowed due to the upgrade from Unity 4 to 5.  I'm not a developer so I don't know how much truth there is to your assertion that the upgrade requires a complete rewrite of the code.

I looked at dksports but they don't bother to mention which platforms they support.  Perfect Golf runs on Linux. :)

They mention it on the main page linked above.  It is a windows based game.

Action! PC system requirements: Windows XP or higher and a minimum of 100 megabytes of disk space

Ah, thanks.  Definitely not interested then. :)
