Never going to happen. The Whole organisation is build upon the idea of one unified European nation. Everything going on there is designed to Draw power away from the individual nations to the overnational USSR 2.0.

I suspect the wheels coming off now are the early death knell of the EU. It was always going to be quite complicated to reach some kind of economic integration. Without the economic integration, political integration is impossible.

IMHO it's all over except the waiting.

it's old hat news, like since 1945 and a being touted by politicians who've fired blanks there since as long as I can remember.  The current leader is not doing anything original by saying this.  Personally I don't think Merkl is a pushover.

I remember visiting Greece before it joined the EU, and afterwards.  Things were still kind of 'chaotic' compared to home here, but things seemed cheaper than there are now.
I don't know how they fell under the Euro spell and then had to cook their books to get in, but it seems they're staying in character by having to lie & cheat to get out.  I'm really glad I never invested in (or inherited) property there, like many I knew.

In the short run I don't think Greece will be kicked out of the EU over this.
However, if they stay on their current course, refusing to commit to the agreement already negotiated. Then, IMHO, they will be kicked out of the Eurozone (the monetary union), I guess within 2 months.

Which, BTW, is good news for the Greeks. They should never have joined the Eurozone in the first place.
