During filming of Airplane, Leslie Nielsen used a whoopee cushion to keep the cast off-balance. Hays said that Nielsen "played that thing like a maestro"

Sad news He was a wonderful actor.

Oddly enough, I was watching a few episodes of the original Battlestar Galactica just the other day. Patrick Macnee did the opening narration, as well as voicing the Cylon Imperious Leader (and later appeared as Count Iblis).

He also did a short lived show, Empire (I think).
It was a comedy take off on Dallas.  McNee was sort of a cross between Steed and JR Ewing.  He terrified all the other characters.

I remember reading in one of Christopher Lee's obits recently, that he used to talk about being in dramas with MacNee when they were in school, and how McNee rightfully took the laurels on a regular basis.

Dang, this makes me wonder (since I used to get their names mixed up sometimes) how Patrick MacGoohan is doing currently.  :-\ {checking} Oh, died back in 2009, which I'm sure I knew at the time.

Years ago, there was an interview with McNee and he wouldn't talk about the war.  Said something about seeing friends blown to bits by high explosives was too overwhelming.
Curious how so many really great actors like McNee, Christopher Lee, Jack Hawkins, Alec Guinness, came out of the cauldron of war and were so good at their craft.
