Does this DLC actually introduce a 4th race? So undead, rats, humans and lizards?

The race is already in the game.  They're normally only buildable on one of those rare tiles.  And they're quite badass, too. 

Sounds like all this DLC will do is add another Mage leader who has the option to get just such a special tile, to build those troop types, next to it's capital city.   Nothing big and expansion-like, no.  Just a new Mage with a new perk.

I hear they're adding the option for including the Unity spell as an insta-win.  That's good.

But I really hope they adjust the AI's constant diplo demands.  Hell, I often end up rolling them w/o planning on it, whenever they give me an ultimatum and they're busy fighting other Mages.  :-\  Even just adding some extra conditions to the AI scripting of it could do wonders.

Yeah there aren't many option when the AI makes a demand. It would be nice to at least be able to counter offer.

I've never played Shadow Magic but the original Age of Wonders was a blast.

Yeah, I really liked Age of Wonders, in fact, I'm tempted to buy it and the 2 expansions on Steam for only £14.
Having said that, I'm playing the warlock demo, so I might buy that instead.

On Steam it lists Age of Wonders as needing Windows as the operating system. Do you know if it works on Windows 7? IIRC it's a pretty old game.

It seems that they are patched to run in Vista / W7 - and although you can buy them as seperates, it seems a good deal to get AoW and the 2 expansions for the same price as Warlock.

And yes, its a bugger, because I have now played the warlock demo about 5 times, and I can see why people like it. If I were to be pressed to make a choice, then it would probably be warlock, subject to me changing my mind again, in true, indecisive, games buying fashion :-\

i understand its all about the LOTR mod

I still have my original Shadow Magic disc, and it runs just fine under 32-bit Vista.
