Free roaming meanie. They sometimes come out of the portals to the other planes. Parking a unit on the portal seems to stop or at least slow down the appearance of meanies from the other planes.

You need to gang up on it to kill it.

Check out its stats for weaknesses. IIRC they are vulnerable to spirit magic. Only a few units use that (clerics and shaken) but they can take out a fire elemental in short order. Do not use elemental magic like ice. It won't work.

Don't worry, the Fire Elemental has a HUGE family. Wait till you meet the rest of them  :)

The Holy Word spell works on them if you have it. It's also pretty cheap to cast.

Interestingly enough, Fireballs/Incinerate are my favorite spells to hit Fire Elementals with...you'd think they'd be immune to them, but they're not.  One or 2 Fireballs knocks them down pretty good, leaving them vulnerable to lesser units like warriors, archers....

Hmmm. I thought the fire elementals were immune to elemental magic.

How can you take a screen shot of this game? I tried Print Screen but all I get it the game manual title page.
