She's not imaginary. She's very real. And the blow-up valve is in the back. I liked Promethius well enough but was so ignorant of the subject that I didn't realize it was an Alien prequel until the very end. It was well done in my opinion. But what do I know? I've been banished from all things Alien because I liked Alien vs Predator.

I watched Event Horizon about a year ago and lost my love for it. When I first saw it about 20 years ago it scared the hell out of me and I was thinking about it for weeks after seeing it. Curious what you guys think of that one.

I really enjoyed Event Horizon back in the 90s.  Still do, although it may be showing a little age these days.

Maybe the reason I enjoyed Prometheus is because I knew it was an Alien prequel beforehand?  I've had people mention they didn't like it too much, but when I asked if they knew it was an Alien prequel and origin story for them, their eyes kinda lit up with abrupt recognition and some lights turned on.  Just mentioning that made them perk up and consider watching again, with that newfound knowledge.

I rarely ever suggest remakes or reboots or other charlatanism, but maybe a remake of Event Horizon would be worth it. Star's girlfriend would love it.

There were so many profoundly stupid things in Prometheus that it was difficult to accept it was a Ridley Scott film. He went off the rails with Prometheus as badly as Cameron did with Avatar. Once great directors substituting pure eye candy for complex characters, believable dialogue and an intelligent plot. Aka "Lucas Syndrome".

Or a sequel: the original holds up fine today (or so I imagine from what I remember watching it, and seeing the occasional screengrab), and it ended with some sequel bait.

I'm not even talking about the more-or-less shaky science fiction/fantasy ideas; those were fine. It was practically everything else (including what was done or not done or half done or half-ass done with the sf/f ideas.)
