Yes, and I read all of the Falcon BMS 4.33 user manuals while I was doing it, as well.

For all those worried about their systems and how this game will run...

I have
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
8GB DDR
Intel Core i5-4670K @3.40GHz
AMD 7900 Series 3GB Graphics card

And it runs sweet as a nut on these settings

I only have a 2GB video card (with a similar computer setup as JD, with the exception that I have 16GB RAM) and the game recommended I use Ultra settings...haven't really been able to play yet, hope to get some time in tonight to see how it goes.

So what are folks initial reactions?

I've put a few hours in. Have to say I'm not as blown away (pun intended) as I thought I would be. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely good, but not awe-inspiring good. I guess I was hoping for awe-inspiring. The first couple of hours of MGS V had more of a 'wow' factor for me. (And forgot how clumsy moving around the world can feel in Bethesda games, a la Skyrim. I got used to Snake's very fluid movements in MGSV and ability to do things like stick to walls, pull yourself up to reach higher places, go prone and crawl. Nothing like that here. Just 'crouch', 'jump', and 'sprint.')

Seems like the last couple Fallout games with some small improvements and base building added.

I still have FOV issues, and there are even more ini edits required to get them fixed in Fallout 4. Hell.. I can't get the 1st-person FOV changes to work.. only 3rd-person. Fookeen consolized BS again.

As enjoyable as the previous ones, if you can deal with the console leftover BS. I actually got sucked into building a quick makeshift home for awhile, which I'm not all that crazed about but once I start something like that I can't leave it unfinished.

I have seen a couple of reviews that basically said you have to play a whole bunch for the cohesiveness of the world to actually hit you. As in, it takes a week to appreciate the game.

I hope I hang in long enough to appreciate it. . . .

Yup.

It's not bad since I was able to change the 3rd-peson view to 90 degrees FOV. But movement in third-person view is a bit clumsy.

That makes sense. The world is clearly huge and there's a lot to do. There seems to be about 10 different types of crafting stations for various items -- I have no idea what does what. And the world is strewn with all sorts of junk -- presumably most things are useful for crafting but I don't even know where to begin.

What I would like would be to find some fusion cores to run my power armor. Haven't come across a single one and my armor's just sitting unused in a field somewhere...
