I have Runebound 3rd Ed. in the mail headed my way... has anyone else jumped in?

I've got my 2nd ed downstairs that I occasionally play.  Unfortunately, it still feels like 3-4 people playing simultaneous solo quests b/c there's no forced player interaction, which is disappointing.

it's not a bad game.  it just feels like everyone is playing their own individual game while you happen to be around the same table, because there's no mechanism that forces the players' characters to interact.  You have the option to try a quest w/ each other, but no requirement to.  There's no quest that's too strong for just one character, forcing you to bring your friends.  There's no quest that says "go capture another character and drag him to..." that forces you to interact with other players.  You're just a dice-chucker for their opponents w/o having to do anything with them during the game.

Runebound looks like a great game. It's just on a low tier of priority right now, as it always has been unfortunately.

I also still have that damn World of Warcraft board game that I got at Origins way back when. Still haven't even taken the pieces out of sealed plastic bags yet.

I've come close to pre-ordering it twice in the past week.  But I pre-ordered Posthuman instead.

My concern, which was confirmed in a brief critique on BGG, is that it's content (notably cards) will feel rather thin in the core set.  Like it needs more content and repetition will set in fairly quickly over multiple plays.  I'm sure this is due to FFG's expansion plans, which tend to get some of these core games pushed out too much on the thin side for my preference.  Thinking maybe I should wait & see if the first inevitable expansion fills it out enough.

As an example, I thought the base Eldritch Horror game needed some more to it from the start.  The first small expansion helped.  I expect it will be the same with this one, if not more so.  I'll be curious to hear your impression of the content after playing.

On a better note, the Chit-Tossing combat system reportedly keeps two players interacting for much of the game.  Since one will have to toss & allocate the results for the monsters on the other players turn.  Other than that, they may still be doing their own thing.
