Ironically, had they just gone with CCH Pounder as the live-action version of Waller (she's the most famous voice actress for the character), she would have looked the part nowadays. ;)

So yeah, it's okay. I'll probably like it a lot. A bit worried about how much plot the movie seems to be juggling; a Suicide Squad movie should be about the mission and how crazy it is to be using supervillains for the mission. But for a first movie, maybe it makes sense that the mission should be a distant second to establishing the characters. I suspect the twist is that the Enchantress (not to be confused with Marvel's Asgardian character), turns out to be the main villain.

20 years ago, when Wizard magazine cast the Suicide Squad movie based on the '88 series, CCH Pounder was their pick for Waller.

(...and Jaredoker factors in, though not as the actual Big Bad, but we all know he's more important.)

It'll be interesting to see if/how they work in Qurac. It's going to come across to those not in the know as pandering to current events, never mind it's been around since the mid-80s

I always thought Jared Leto looked creepy and annoying.  Annoying.. probably because he also reminded me of that d-knob from the old Full House tv show (which I loathed).

Maybe this is the role he was born for?
