QuoteTalking to Collider, Wiseman said that longtime fans of the series had never seen "the love story" develop between McClane and his ex-wife Holly, and wanted to rectify that.

Yeah.

Because Die Hard was all about the love story.    ::)

*facepalm*

Yes, fans cared so much that the writers had no problem dumping the love story as a failed disaster for 3, 4, and 5. (Although I prefer to think of 3 as actually being 2, leading to reconciliation and him going to work in LA as an officer.)
ICEBREAKER THESIS CHRONOLOGY! -- Victor Suvorov's Stalin Grand Strategy theory, in lots and lots of chronological order...
Dawn of Armageddon -- narrative AAR for Dawn of War: Soulstorm: Ultimate Apocalypse

Yep. Every time I watch Die Hard I think, "I'd really like to know how those two met and fell in love".

I want the back story on Argyle.

Is it going to be R-rated? No? Then it can piss right off.

If a Die Hard movie is at a low enough rating that John McLane can't actually say "Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker", then it's pointless.

I love the first one, the 2nd was really just the original Redux, I liked the different take on things in the third, and the other two are best left forgotten.
