Looking for recommendations as I dig a little deeper in my War Gaming.... primarily I am looking at operation warfare on a medium or small scale with any time period and medium complexity.  I would like it to be solo friendly if possible.  I just picked up Light Division and Trajan to get me started and was wonder if the group recommends any in particular.

Are you looking at ground ops only?

Bloody April from GMT is a great operational level air campaign in WWI.

Going way back you have Afirka Korps by AH. Easy to play, great little operation game of WWII desert war.

The Longest Day by AH. Monster game but really well done.

Corps Command: Dawn's Early Light/Red Hammer from LnLP. Cold war gone hot, easy to play.

A Victory Lost / A Victory Denied if you're an East Front WWII fan.  Both are reasonably-sized and well-scaled.  I'm not a big East Front fan, but I like these two.

I'd definitely second a nomination for Dawn's Early Light.

The old SPI Mod Quads are a lot of fun, and the untried units make them a little more replayable / solo-friendly, but some folks don't think they model modern warfare well enough.

These are all excellent recommendations. Victory Lost / A Victory Denied are WWII East Front though ;)

Tannenburg 1914 is in the same "Victory" family and is also excellent.

Are you accusing him of being a revisionist?

Haven't played it yet myself but Enemy Action: Ardennes is getting lots of love over at the geek, and is in print at the moment. Enemy Action is designed to be played solo or 2-player. Includes three maps; solo ALLIED, solo AXIS and one for 2-player.

Compass has been turning out some kick ass games lately. I've done several plays of Breaking the Chains recently and I just ordered Balance of Powers a couple weeks ago.
