The first rule of Dune the Dice Game is not to talk about Dune the Dice Game.

That being said, guess what came yesterday in my mail box? Having very fond memories of the original Avalon Hill Dune game (which sells for $100000000000 currently on ebay), I am pretty geeked up about this.

From what I have heard, the Frank Herbert estate is the reason there is no reprint of the classic AH game (seems they are a bunch of dicks). So it is nice to see this available till at least the Herbert Estate hears about it.

Here is an unboxing from the chief. Remember Shhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Quite true. Fantasy Flight actually obtained the rights to the Dune board game a couple of years back, but the Herbert estate wouldn't grant them use of the actual Dune license. And thus, Rex was born. They basically took the game and shoehorned the TI3 universe in to it.

I think that's also the reason there have been no video games based on Dune since that old PC strategy one in the 90s.   ???

And it's gone :(

???

Sold Out?

That's the way of specialty board games these days.  Although a few of the smaller game companies have been reprinting them shortly after their first run has sold out.  Something more of them should be doing, but it's improved over the past few years.

Or did the IP owners go Games Workshop on them?

Yep, the Herbert band of idiots shut it down. Few people do less with something that could earn them some coin than these jackasses.
