I just added the 3rd How to Play Video!

The Kickstarter is doing great, but we still need your help to reach the Russian Army stretch goal!

Pledge now to awaken the sleeping Bear of the East!

IMHO: The project had badly needed  a stretchgoal of $xx xxxx

"Free shipping! worldwide" (including the new footlocker add-on delivery when ordered too)
so the sum listed at kickstarter is what a contributor really pays regardless of his origin
instead of more and more card stuff that would have be good for the next wave of the WW2 series

the shipping costs kills the kickstarter consideration (beside fandom impulse buy ) for everybody living outside the USA  and maybe Canada
The listed MSRP are not the market price short after release, for example at vendors like NWS

and people in Europe are generally f#%&ed royal

Personally so it looks like i have to wait again for the next Spiel Tradefair in Essen to get it for a reasonable summed up investment at the booth of UGG  (http://www.ugg.de/ ) in Oct (hope its printed and shipped to him then.... or its one additional year wait!) ... to save at high shipping cost  still to inside Germany and hope for a little trade-fair discout that Uwe Grebe often granted in the past.

Its too sad :-\

I wants me some Russians!   I'm already in pretty deep, so it's going to have to come from somewhere else though   ;-)

Agreed. One thing I cannot justify in my gaming budget (board or computer) is mail...if it's not for sale in the UK (or Europe at a stretch), I ain't buying.

I did mention to one board game company (can't remember which) that I would love to pre-order from their website, but the additional $35 shipping was a killer and stopped me from pre-ordering.

Exactly!

let's take a look at the market situation this morn for the good old Warfighter (the combo with first 3 expansion) if i would want it in Germany in a few days

at DVG's website
"Warfighter Core Game 2nd Edition +3 Expansions and Bonus pack Bullet Dize"

$124.99  +shipping: $46.58 (International Economy) = $171.57  now add 19% German import tax = $204.17

at NWS onlinestore
"Warfighter Core Game 2nd Edition +3 Expansions + Extras Game Pack (DVG)"

regular prize $62.99  +shipping:  $52.80  (international air mail)  = $115,79  now add 19% German import tax = $137.79

from a store i know in Germany (i have no affiliation with them other then being a customer once a year)
UGG online store
(putting each item from the combo in the basket by hand, (no combo available)  131,02 €
(no discount possibilities claimed, tax is included) and free delivery  x 1,1282 exchange rate (for comparison to $) = 147.82$

- back to the ongoing WW2 kickstarter

marketing wise... does anybody (outside the USA) who not have had backed the project until now would jump in because now he gets the Russians too.
Is that the one magic item missing what have kept more backers around the globe from pulling the trigger the last days?

(Heh, we don't know yet if it even feels different attacking with a team of Americans, Brits, or Germans in Warfighter WW2 ...are there (historical) strategies/tactics (cards) unique to a nation?
Well, there are iconic weapons for each nation, but will the stats make so much difference if a guy has an MP40, a Thompson, or a Sterling when clearing a trenchline?
I think there might be a underlying general caveat with WW2 here ... in Modern Warfighters it was natural to have a very wide selection of gear, items and clamp-ons that made sense to pick from the armory when those individula spec-ops soldiers plan for their asymmetric warfare mission... but in WW2 its just a Landser his K98 and two potato mashers... well, have to check the already upcomming gameplay videos of the new installment of the outstanding game system)

Also i would like to know how adding the footlocker or other add-ons change the $35 shipping that kickstarter reports.
are the $35 a fixed rate?  ...the footlocker looks kind of bulky, so that could be a bargain.

Well I'm looking forward to reviewing it as the proof is in the pudding as they say (not sure who says..but someone did somewhere, at sometime).

I'm hoping it's better than Frontline D Day which I didn't get on with that well. I just can't resist a solo game at this scale though.

A different game but similar scale is Two Hour Wargames Nuts! mini's solo series. Nuts with Clash of Titans and Stalingrad expansions is a superb game at this scale. I'd love to see a digital version of it aswell as I reckon it would be a big hit. Lock N Load..are you listening?

Back to DVG. I haven't been that lucky in my DVG purchases so far with frontline and then Tiger leader so I'm hoping this will be third time lucky.

Finally Dan is a real good lad and for all his hard work designing boardgames for our enjoyment over the years I hope this is a big hit for him.

DanVerssen

Right, the shipping charges are a one time fee. You can then Add-On at no additional shipping cost.

JudgeDredd

Thanks for stepping in Dan

I like your games and I do buy your games  but the shipping costs to the UK are large. I know that's not your fault, but it's the reason I have never pre-ordered any of your games and wait until they are for sale in the UK

Ok... wow, was I wrong.  Not only did the Russian stretch goal get reached, but so did *both* Polish goals.   Some very late action on the Kickstarter front.
