DCS Combined Arms will let you control ground units in the DCS world (and be cannon fodder for the A-10). Lol!
But I suspect ground units won't be high fidelity with regards to controls but generic.

I've been posting a lot on this on other forums.  I'm really looking forward to this.  If it is executed well, this could be my simming nirvana.

MikeGER

will it work with the Steam version of DCS A10 ?  (or when?)

I'm downloading DCS World (it's the new DCS launcher pictured above) as we speak.  They say you can unlock A-10 by just using your Steam Serial.  But I haven't tried it out.  Let you guys know.

DoctorQuest

They still have some sort of DRM, though, right? If so, I'll have to pass. No game is that good.

Not sure about the DRM.

I got the somewhat definite answer for Steam users.  I download the DCS A-10 Module Installer from the Eagle Dynamics site.  Install... and use the Steam serial key to unlock A-10.

Take note I'm talking about integrating you A-10 into DCS World (free) which is a merged platform to run all DCS stuff.    DCS World also has a free aircraft (SU-25).  DCS World is an integrated application launcher where you can launch missions, campaigns, set up instant action from the DCS modules you have installed.

I can confirm that using the Steam key for A-10 works.  Black Shark 1 doesn't.

Is the module a free d/l? Does it require a game license to use or is the Frogfoot a sort of demo, free to try?

There is an update on the DCS forums from eariler in the month which lists the modules (including version numbers) that will play together.

No, because there is a Black Shark 2.  They're not updating the original anymore.

The updates that turn BS1 into BS2 were well worth the upgrade purchase and the headaches of the DRM junk, however.   The random mission generator and improved interface components made it more enjoyable for me.
