Thank you, CJReich  O0

Tuna, if the Honey Do list is that long, how are you going to find time to play Stellaris or WoW?  Sounds like you're just ditching me.  :(

Cause I'm playing those at night!  >:D

I noticed earlier this year somewhere that Legend of the Galactic Heroes was (or is already) getting a new animation. Presumably one with music they actually paid for instead of rented, so that they can release the dang thing legally in the future rather than rely on fansubs. ;)

Ah, the Smithereens; had a Mike Mesaros Rickenbacker bass back in the day - good times.

Anyhoo, got 2-3 weeks of yard work to tackle if the weather lets me.  Otherwise, Verdun, World of Warships, and Mount and Blade: Napoleonic Battles are what I'm looking forward to.

Amusingly enough, my boy likes the Napoleonic stuff, so I need to see if I can steer him toward some similarly themed strategy games.  :)

M&B Napoleonic Wars can be so much hilarious multi-player fun.   O0

^is m&b nappy still played online much?  Agreed that it is both fun and fairly hilarious.  Love the bagpipe players!

I spent most of last night playing rising storm.  Got on a good server and had some tough matches but man alive do I utterly suck.

Finished out with poker night at the inventory where I lost the tourney to strong bad on a bad flop.    >:(

I play it MP every once in awhile.

Most players are usually doing 'Siege' mode.  Last few times I played, there were usually 50 or 60 players on one of the Siege servers.

Went on some role playing server that had nearly 150 out of 200 slots filled (Russian peasant represent, yo) so I think it still has some life in it.

Sure does.  Because it's MP setting is so fun & rather unique for an FPS.

Dunno how many laughs I've had from seeing cannonballs to the face, people getting blind-sided by bayonets, or some cavalryman dude, while kneeling & reloading their musket.  Just plain fun without being too "twitchy".

Ok, I'm going to give this a try again.  I haven't played it in quite a while...no reason, just fell off my radar.

Finished the tutorial campaign for One Troll Army. For a free game, it's pretty punchy; as noted, lots of character.

One very odd bit of unexpected character, related to being "punchy", that players may have trouble with, though -- I sure did -- is that the devs chose a curious physical realism for the Troll. He punches weird.

By which I mean that, because he's built very much like King Kong (somewhat mixed with the Hulk and a dash of the ogre Shrek), he has trouble simply punching one of the little enemies in front of him, because his body is usually resting on the other hand like a gorilla. So when he punches, he can plink straight ahead effectively enough but that's rather random. More usually he makes big looping swipes with one or the other arm, which completely miss whatever is in front of him and will end up clipping the top of whoever is standing about 45 degrees off to one side or another -- and then his body swings over to face 90 degrees left or right of where he started.

This is super annoying. So much so, it took me a while to infer that this was design and not a bug. The troll would be too powerful with his basic attack if he was actually good at it, so it helps with game balance as a side effect: you need to be a good leader to the goblins in building up fort defenses between waves (mostly towers on the corners, maybe also orc mercenaries), because you can't quite rely on the troll to be successful as a one troll army.

Still, I could easily imagine players just cussing and giving up; can't say I'd blame them either.
