I've always been impressed with how GOG treats it's customers. 

All things being equal, I buy from GOG before anyone else.  Unfortunately they tend to get new releases later than Steam, if the game in question is even offered for installation anywhere else but Steam.  It's not GOG's fault, though, as that is up to the respective developers.

I've still picked up some newer games, along with many oldies, there.  Been extremely happy, especially since they're DRM/hassle-free.   No qualms about buying from them.

Mine connected but it didn't work as it couldn't find any of the games, installed or not on the library. I even set the privacy to public for a bit, but it made no difference.

Pretty sure you have to leave your Steam api info on Public for quite awhile.

Mine took a day or more before it worked.  Got five games added to my GOG library.

I was able to get 4 games added after a day or so as well.
