This is one of the three worst movies ever made.  You have to see it.
Makes the old 1930s serials, like Buck Rogers, look like Academy Award efforts.

During filming of Airplane, Leslie Nielsen used a whoopee cushion to keep the cast off-balance. Hays said that Nielsen "played that thing like a maestro"

that one doesn't look remotely redeemable

there's so-bad-its-good (I stand by Star Crash as the best of this bunch, but Plan 9 and Battle Beyond The Stars are certainly worthy)
then there's so-bad-Im-just-not-wasting-my-time

this appears to be the latter, not the former

I'd go so far as to say it's a legitimately good movie. A very cheap movie in some regards, but an inventive and playful ambitious update to the Seven Samurai, with some genius-level characterization writing considering the time constraints and the number of characters, which isn't afraid to punch hard when the chips go down (heavy protagonist mortality rate). Plus a very decent early James Horner score.
