I know diddly poo about this setting - I can only guess that it is dropped in between the Weird West era and the Wasted West timeline. 

If possible, I'd honestly love to hear what others have done with this particular flavor of Deadlands as it just don't click for me compared to the aforementioned Weird West and Wasted West.

It's like the Deadlands Reloaded alt-horror-history's interwar version of a Lovecraftian+Noir setting.  In Naa Awlens.   From what I've gathered.

While I have Deadlands Reloaded, and it's post apoc setting Hell On Earth, I've not looked into this one. 

I'm guessing it follows the same and VERY different Deadlands setting background.  The details of that whole alternate history is some real pulp craziness, but it provides some different & fun settings, and time periods, where horror & magic is a thing.  Pretty much a license to dream up whatever craziness you want, in the fantastical history period in question.

Mixed with the Savage Worlds system, I would expect it to naturally lean more towards action.  But being something a bit Lovecraft and detective noir inspired, this specific setting probably has more focus on investigative scenarios.  Although I'm not sure if there is much extra in the way of mechanics.



TL;DR:

The Deadlands horror-western setting of the late 19th century definitely looks like some crazy fun.  Inspires ideas, and I'd eventually like to try it out.  The horror gumshoe thing in Deadlands Noir, which I've not seen, may be worth checking out if you'd like a Call Of Cthulhu feel with more action, magic, voodoo, etc in a wildly alt-history New Orleans.
