I've become so sickened by the US political situation, that I played an entire 42 turn campaign of the Political Machine 2016 tonight in 2.5 hours.

I may play another game, screenshot it, and write an AAR.

Sir Slash

I thought we already had one in motion. Slow motion.

I have been tempted to buy President Infinity lately, seems to be the best presidential campaign game out there....

I've checked out previous versions and the fixed resolution and lack of a tutorial kept me from pulling the trigger.  Even though one of the buttons says "Try Now", it still goes to a purchase screen and not a demo.

If there is a demo I'd love to know about it.

No demo for the latest version, I once checked with the developer....however he did say the offer full refunds if not pleased so may be the only way to really try it.  Although the resolution was smaller, that really didn't stop me from liking what I saw, but to be honest since so detailed, it was really hard to fully understand the mechanics.  Hoping for an election sale, although it is only $19:)

Got my copy on the Steam summer sale for $10 or so.

Don't believe president infinity is available on steam

I have Prez Infinity, both the '08 version and this latest.  It is detailed and you can really tweak your campaign.  It gets very repetitious however.  You set up your schedule each week (that can modified to bi-weekly or monthly (I believe)) but all that you're doing is working out your agenda and then hitting the button to see what happened that week:

Monday: travel to Ohio.  Fundraiser
Tuesday: Fundraiser, policy speech
Wednesday: rest
Thursday: Debate prep
etc, etc.

You do have a few other things going on however; you can set up ads and spin/counterspin your opponents ads.  You can also hire staff and butter-up endorsers.

The number crunching is nice and though I wish that the debates had more to them than they do, you do get a good breakdown of your candidate's performance after each of them.

I'd say that you could easily get enough hours in it to make up the $20 price tag.  After November though, I think everybody will be about fed up with anything political.

Thanks for the summary....it does look like a good simulator, but I have a feeling I wouldn't understand it enough....maybe if some really big sale I'll try it, otherwise I'll hold off until the next election:)

I've started an AAR.

I checked, and the price I paid in the Steam Summer Sale was $2.49.  It will probably go on sale again this Christmas for about the same amount.
