Tonight is supposed to be a "lighter" episode centered on The Kingdom. Granted, "lighter" is relative, but hopefully no one else will run across Lucille anytime soon.

The violence never bothered me until last week. I always thought the show was good but it didn't bother me. I must be aging.

I'm just burned out on it at this point.  It's not that they have to keep ramping up the gore to out-do whatever they did last week.  It's that they have to keep outdoing the hopelessness.  I got it - the world sucks, no one should really be surviving, we're all just walking bags of zombie-steak, and everyone should just go jump off a bridge now and get it over with.  There's never really been anything that's ever gotten "better" in 7 seasons, so at this point I just don't give even half a fuck who dies next, or how, or why, or anything...

its very faithful to how the comic was drawn.

Reading a comic is akin to reading a storyboard. To view one image in one is very different for the main reason unless you linger at it for several minutes it's nowhere the same as the camera lingering on it. In the comic you can determine how long you take to get to the next scene--but with the show your a prisoner to the camera---and the camera just 'lingers' on it. That's the difference-and that's why you cannot really compare the two--aside from the fact one's a comic image and one's with real people. I seriously doubt anyone stared at the image for more than a few moments---let alone 5 minutes-8 minutes-or the length of time spent on Negan bashing a head. It is really apples and Oranges so to keep bringing that up as an excuse is about as weak as an excuse can get.

This is why I am not interested in any of these post-apocalypse shows. Too much drama and not enough focus on the Apocalypse. It killed me about BSG. If there are only 50,000 humans left in the universe, you're not going to spend much time debating the due rights process for the cyborgs that destroyed your civilization. Same thing with Walking Dead. Things are really that shitty, Negan doesn't seem like such a bad guy all of a sudden.
