Far Cry Primal?

I am sure I missed it, but don't recall much talk about this version of Far Cry.  Does anyone own it with any comments?  I see $15 at Kinguin, so considering.

There is nothing overtly wrong with it, but it just never grabbed me. It is SO different from any other far cry....points for thinking outside the box and trying something new, but I feel like the game was ultimately held back by being set in such an ancient era.

Some might find it to be well worth $15, but personally, I didn't get $15 worth of play out of it. I will most likely return to it someday.

Thanks JH!  Appreciate the quick and good feedback.....from the reviews I looked at so far, seems on par of being an average game with a huge map.  And thanks JD, just watched the end of the video for the recap and seems to echo the same.  I'll likely hold off a bit, maybe at xmas it will even be cheaper:)

Even though I know they are different games I think ARK Survival Evolved took a lot of wind out of FC:P's sails.

Considering I haven't grabbed FC4 yet I'm in no hurry to pick this one up.

I stayed away from it until I read this article https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2016/03/08/far-cry-primal-difficulty/ from Rock, Paper, Shotgun about playing the game with as many HUD elements turned off as possible. I found it on sale for PS4 and gave it a go minus the HUD and many of the map indicators, plus playing with just one life.  With those items turned on, it's just another open world tourist game. With those aids turned off and playing with permadeath survival mode on it becomes a primitive survival simulator with the added story elements of the warring tribes. I only spent 8 to 10 hours with the game, but when I return to it I'll play with minimal HUD and map icons. It's just more interesting to me that way.

I am still intrigued by it since a different time period and for $15 I guess I could hardly do much harm...but going to hold out a bit:)
