Yeah.. no. Legs aren't attached. Table surface not finished. It's going to have an inside as well and the sides for that aren't on. Top not started. Still not stained. etc...

After trying to get back into HOI IV -- and coming to the conclusion that the AI is still too awful for an enjoyable experience  :(  -- I've surprised myself by giving GG's War in the East yet another chance. With modded map, UI, and fonts, the game looks surprisingly nice -- the vanilla game is still too hideous to play. Managed to get a major victory on the Road to Leningrad scenario last night -- never managed that before. Contemplating jumping into a full '41 - '45 campaign this weekend.

1. Jison's map
2. Combined Unit icons
3. the "COREd WitE" photos overhaul collection
4. the "Kommandeur Edition" GUI mod

Also, I use this as my fonts setting -- if you like it you can cut and past the following in the "WITEFontConfig.txt" in the "Dat" folder. You'll probably have to download the "Gunplay" font -- you may be able to locate it by searching the matrix forums --

Yeah, for me WITE's horrifically bland UI especially was long a stumbling block to my enjoying the game. It's funny, because I rather like the UI of WITP:AE, with all its quirks. But WITE vanilla just has no character or flair, IMO. Plus I always found the fonts really hard to read -- the Gunplay font really transformed the game for me!  As does Jison's extraordinary map + UI.

I should add that I only actually use a couple of elements from the Kommandeur Edition GUI mod -- the full-blown mod is a little too much for me.

Yep, 4'x8' sheet of 1/2" plywood on 4 wobbly legs. Good times.  :bd:

Playing "THE" Ultimate Battle... baby-sitting grandkids. Compared to that DC Case Blue and TEAW is a sad second. The secret to victory is, earphones for the noise, boring football on the TV so they'll go bother Grandma, and an occasional fierce Grandfather-face walk-through. If that doesn't work, go outside and get a scary-looking bug. Feel free to use these tactics yourself but beware..... they adapt like the Borgs. Have a good one Grogs.

Sauron has released the chief of the Nazgûl to raise Angmar again, out of the northern wastes; the troops of the Lidless Eye also march at his beck and call from Mordor; the Goblin King has sworn his armies to serve as well; Saruman has used Moria to stamp Lorien and the Woodland Realm already; Angmar has rolled over Rivendell; all the West has fallen! Gondor, with Rohan, stands alone in the South. CAN THE DWARVES (and a bunch of men, and a few elves) STEM THE TIDE OF THIS CATASTROPHE!?

Well my fun friday is I got a call from the bank and someone fraudulently charged over $3800 from an account. They stopped the card but I have to go file a claim. Not sure what this will entail, but it sounds like im out of that money until they can straighten it out for me.
