If you are a SW fan, drop what your doing and see Rogue One

I am not going to spoil anything other than to say it was AWESOME!

The plot and the writing had a depth and breadth that finally gets the hugeness of the Star Wars universe correct. It is the best SW movie yet made, IMHO. If you are a Star Wars nut that is skeptical of Disney and haven't seen the movie yet, don't walk, run to the nearest theater. I have a new respect for capitalism after watching this movie.

Definately seeing this soon , but after reading your review I'm just even more Intrested to go and watch it , I was wondering if it would be as good as the first or if it would suffer from the dreaded sequel syndrome ! Either way , I'll be a Star Wars nerd and go and see it :nerd:

Saw it in 3D....I guess hard to compare until I view it without 3D, but didn't think anything spectacular. Doesn't mean it wasn't good, just nothing extremely stood out that wowed me. Had the same kind of viewing experience with Force Awakens last year and actually preferring the non-3D version. The movie itself (regardless of viewing type) was very good though and a nice addition to Star Wars franchise.

Dr. Strange in 3-D was one of the best films ever. Right up there with Avatar-- 3-D-wise.

I'm going tonight and very excited about it. It looks amazing.

As for 3D - I never took to it after Avatar. I went to see other things in 3D and they were poorly done. That along with feeling like you're wearing sunglasses - it's just never stuck with me.

I saw Rogue One on Monday, and I enjoyed the hell out of it. Am still trying to decide whether or not it's overtaken Empire Strikes Back as my favorite Star Wars film.

Dialogue was 'meh'. Speeches not very inspired.

But the spectacle was great. Especially the last half of the movie, once the Pew Pew really got going.

Also enjoyed the story being something different, along with the ending.

Saw it today. The first 45 minutes were weak but after that...really got going. Not sure where it falls in my personal ranking of the films. Have to see it again.

I would agree the first part was slow, I probably should have stated that up front. To me, I enjoyed it more than any SW movie I can remember. I saw Star Wars in a drive in theater in 1978. The original movies were well known to me before I could really judge a good movie from a bad movie. The new prequels had stellar lightsaber duels, but poor dialogue at times and Jar Jar. The Force Awakens had space Nazis and blew up yet another death star. I still think Rogue One is the best, but I am very partial to war movies.
