Fathers Day Weekend Gaming Thread

Another week gone?!? Where does the time go.......... as Toonces said im sure many who add to the thread have noble intentions of playing the games they mention but usually this goes out of the window when the gaming session starts - i intend to be playing Warlock and Endless Space - Warlock cos its awesome and Endless because i want to get immersed in the game and give it its best chance of impressing me, more BETA-ing and some PS3 GRFS

I'll stick with the old standbys...Rise of Flight, Red Orchestra 2.

I don't know what else I'll get to.  I've been dabbling in Battle of Britain 2: Wings of Victory and will probably get some sorties in that as well as some boardgaming- Carrier and/or The Burning Blue.

Endless Space - I just saw a BIG update come through.  :D

Professional Football Sim - Being an NFL general manager is addictive.  I finally grabbed this one because it's the only one of it's type being actively developed right now and it's the new hot thing in the small genre.  The game outcomes and stats are already more realistic & believable than the two others I have played, even though this one is still a work in progress.

I have a game of Normandy '44 set up, but have not started it as yet. I was supposed to have played begining on 6th (Doh - obviously) but got sidetracked by Warlock....

Normandy '44 is a great game. Hope you get play it some this weekend.

^Yeah, it really is great, and I have played it a few times now - and always wish it could go on a little further, at least to cover Cobra - Totalize.

I'm hoping to get my hands on Ardennes '44 as well at some point.

As for me I'll be hanging with the grog boyz playing Armada 2526 PBEM.  Gonna try to fit in some more Dawn of War II this weekend.  I am stuck on Day 6 in the Chaos Rising expansion campaign and it's really irking me a lot.  Not enough to smash up a hotel room, but mad enough. 

Then I plan on delving into Mass Effect 3, Tom Clancy's Future Soldier, and maybe a little Forza 4 on my Xbox.  Yay ya!!!!

As last weekend, I'll be playing Rift, probably exclusively.  Leveling a mage at the moment who was primarily a necro, but now I'm dabbling with the chloromancer soul I've heard so much about.  It's kind of cool...I like how healing is tied to damage, which makes it a much more interesting soul than a classic healer.  I'll probably continue with my necro for leveling and switch to chloro for rifts, warfronts and any other time I'm in a group.

Patch 1.9 is imminent by the way.  Once it hits we'll have (amongst many other things) three-way PvP, the "barbershop" and Instant Adventures in pretty much every zone.  You have to hand it to Trion, they're doing an incredible job with these major, free updates.  They're embarrassing almost every other MMO dev out there.

It will be my first time playing. There's going to be four of us trying it out tomorrow. I'll give you my impressions after.

What sorts of times are you on the servers (if MP RoF is your thing)?  I usually get some roffing in on Friday nights UK time.  After that I have a go at Darkest Hour, having drifted back into that away from RO2.

I'm in Hawaii, so I'm almost 12 hours behind you.  I get on multiplayer for whatever game I'm playing between 1600 and midnight, Hawaii time, on Fridays and whenever I can on the weekend.  My callsign is Toonces in both games.

Last night I played on the SAW server in RO2, which was nice.  Just lately I've been dabbling in the Syndicate server on RoF if there's at least 12 or so people on, otherwise I just go to the New Wings server.

I'll have to google Darkest Hour...I don't know what that is.

Another weekend with no time to game!

I swear next year when I get a new gaming PC, I am going buy a sh*tload of games and lock myself in a room.  They can run an IV and catheter, since I am not coming out for two months!
