I hear ya Mark.  I'm working 12 hour nightshifts all weekend, so no gaming for me.  Happily, I get a week off after every stint of nightshifts, so I have next week to spend moving everything over to the new PC!  SHould be done just in time to go back to work!  YAY???

I'm in Hawaii, so I'm almost 12 hours behind you.  I get on multiplayer for whatever game I'm playing between 1600 and midnight, Hawaii time, on Fridays and whenever I can on the weekend.  My callsign is Toonces in both games.

Last night I played on the SAW server in RO2, which was nice.  Just lately I've been dabbling in the Syndicate server on RoF if there's at least 12 or so people on, otherwise I just go to the New Wings server.

I'll have to google Darkest Hour...I don't know what that is.

Sadly, we're unlikely to cross paths...but I'm usually on Syndicate or New Wings as well, when I'm on.

DH is a mod of RO which transposes the action to the Western Front from D-Day onwards.  I'd highly recommend it to anyone - these guys have dragged out every last morsel of gameplay from RO and added a few things besides.

CKII here playing with the ck2+ mod. probably throw in a few games of ootp13 as well.

TheCommandTent

Some CKII and maybe some Warlock.

I also hope to get some of my minis painted.

I've been playing a lot of Rockstar stuff for some reason. Started up Grand Theft Auto : Episodes from Liberty City. Basically, a pair of story driven games built in the GTA IV engine. The one I've started up is the Lost & Damned, where you're a high ranking officer in a biker gang. Solid so far, but the gun play in the series has never exactly been tight, and MAN does that come up as an issue in a game filled with running gun battles.

The other game I've been playing this week is L.A. Noire. So far, so good. It took awhile to figure out the basics of how in the Hell interrogations/interviews work. I was pretty much guessing every time whether the person being spoken to was telling the Truth, I was Doubtful of their explanation, or I could catch them in a Lie. Once you start getting that nailed down, things work a lot better. The one issue I have are the random street crimes that you can respond to. Every single one of them has ended with either me gunning down an armed suspect, beating the crap out of someone after they attack me, or in one case, with a crazy guy jumping off the top of a building to his death. And you watch the coroner drive off with the body, or the paddy wagon with the suspect in the back, and that's it. After that, it's like it didn't even happen. It seems very weird how these things just vanish once you've finished them.

Kushan

I started a new game of Skyrim this week. Taking an idea from Diablo, I'm playing it with a self imposed hardcore mode. Saving only when I quit and death means starting over. I'm playing on expert difficulty, with the lore friendly version of the skyrim monster mod, which adds a ton of new monsters, and spawn points.

I'll probably play some more Diablo 3 at some point this weekend.
PanzersEast: Have to think to myself.... will I play the first one by the Winter Sale?  Probably not, then I should remove Dragonfall
PanzersEast: but that is thinking too logically.... and Steam Sales are about ignoring Logic

I wonder why none of you have replied, "planning on becoming a father".  There is definitely a lack of imagination or something with this group!    ;D

Staggerwing

Well, since I got it right the first two times, further plans have been put on hold. Not that I wouldn't mind a (not so) dry run should some of the featured items from the Cosplay thread suffer a wardrobe malfunction and request assistance...

I'm going to honor the memory of my father, a WWII navy Chief Petty Officer and veteran of the battle of Okinawa by sinking as many Japanese ships as I can in Silent Hunter 4. Maybe I'll swing by Okinawa on April 1, 1945 and see if his ship's there.

I swear next year when I get a new gaming PC, I am going buy a sh*tload of games and lock myself in a room.  They can run an IV and catheter, since I am not coming out for two months!

Now that sounds like paradise.   :)

I'll stick with the old standbys...Rise of Flight, Red Orchestra 2.

I don't know what else I'll get to.  I've been dabbling in Battle of Britain 2: Wings of Victory and will probably get some sorties in that as well as some boardgaming- Carrier and/or The Burning Blue.

Toonces, are you playing BB solo?

I will also be tinkering with Carrier a bit over the weekend. I'm part way into the last tutorial scenario (#6).
Can't wait to try out my first Standard Game.

The reports are in.  This weekend I played Rise of flight for about half an hour, WitPAE PBEM for about 3 hours, Operation Star for about 6 hours and puzzled over some rules and what not for Command at Sea 4th ed. for 9 minutes.  I'd like to try the French pocket battleship killers against some Pocket battleships, but maybe Just taking Force H for a spin to sink the Provence again would be just the thing.  come on!  You've wasted 20 seconds already!

Toonces

Indeed, the results are in.

As usual, my gaming eyes were bigger than my belly.  I did play a bit of RO2 (got my ass completely and utterly kicked).  I googled The Darkest Hour mod and realized that RO1 on Steam came with DH and Mare Nostrum mods, all for $10, so I got that.  I played a few minutes of DH online and after getting raped repeatedly within 5 minutes of spawning I gave it up...I need to spend some time offline with it and figure out what's up before I spend anymore time online with it.  The graphics weren't that great, especially compared to RO2.

Actually, that's it for computer gaming.  I spent all day Saturday surfing/drinking and Sunday I got a Kindle Fire for Father's Day.  I found a whole handful of interesting looking games for it so I have those cued up for purchase and I spent Sunday not doing FD stuff goofing off on my Kindle.

Sigh.

Regarding Burning Blue, my intent is to play it partly solo, partly with my son depending on how hard it is to simplify the rules to a point where he can play it some.

its weird how Friday is filled with such variety but by Sunday evening youve been gripped by a game and the list goes poooof

i got stuck into endless space and AJE testing - both charming and excellent

TheCommandTent

I got sucked into Warlock all weekend.  I unwittingly got sucked into a border war with a rival mage which turned into me taking the enemies capital and now I am mopping up all the leaderless units running round.
