Second & Ten PC American Football Game - NFL Championship Weekend Results!

In honor of the NFL Championship weekend, decided to do a quick sim of the AFC and NFC Championship games using Second and Ten Football Game.......looks like we will have a rematch in the Super Bowl.....Green Bay vs Pittsburgh!  I really hope this is right!

Green Bay keeps Atlanta's high powered offense in check, while Rodgers works his normal magic.  Pittsburgh does not rely on Bell, but instead Big Ben has a big passing day (although survives 3 INTs), throwing the winning TD pass with only 19 seconds left in the game.

I kind of favor the Falcons. Greenbay D is depleted and winning 2 games in a row on the road is tough. It might come down to whatever defense gets some stops but of course there is that Rodgers factors, dude's playing out of his mind. The Steelers/Patriots game, dont like either of them but the Steelers are probably the only team in the AFC that could go in there and win of all the teams that made the playoffs. Probably going to come down to who makes the least mistakes/turnovers. I think i'd like to see a Falcons/Steelers matchup in the SB. Since i have no horse in the race i'd just like some close games that go down to the wire and maybe a few less friggin commercial breaks.

I can't see Brady completing only 14 of 27 for 150 against the Steelers. Historically, his 2 TD vs. 1 interception is about right versus the Steelers in the playoffs, but only connecting on 50% of his passes.....that's a Pittsburgh wet dream. Not to mention Brady has been having a career year this season. Should be a close game however.

Personally, I'm hoping for a Patriots/Packers Super Bowl. Like the Cowboys/Packers, that one could easily go down to the wire.

In Brady's two real life playoff games against the Steelers, his numbers not too far off.....

Game #1: 12-18, 115 Yards, 0 TD, 0 INT
Game #2: 14-21, 207 Yards, 2 TD, 0 INT

Regular season games against the Steelers, he certainly has been much more prolific.....I don't expect Brady to only have 150 yards and I am sure he'll find some way to win, but hopefully a good game.

Nice work, I must have been looking at all-time rather than just the playoff records. Should be an outstanding game. It will be fun to compare the actual results to your Second and Ten playoffs  :)

Yes. they did a game update and season update within the last week or so.

Second and Ten needs to add "events" to their games so they can be considered as part of the possible outcome..... :)

Ok, so a little off topic but is 2nd and 10 any good?

Been looking for a good american football management sim for a while and haven't found much. Seems like they managed to get NFL licenses (which is pretty surprising actually)

Yes, it is a good game for what it is.....its not a career football management sim (no trading, salary, etc.), but a season replay game where the focus is playing historical seasons to see if you can do better or worse.  It costs like $50, but you get all the past NFL seasons included and a bunch of college (more recent seasons you have to pay $10 per season).  The game design itself is based on a boardgame so you get a lot of charts and such...but it has good feel to it and really does a nice job in portraying a season.  It does not have an NFL license, it does come with the player names, but all graphics are mods that are easy to install.

Its main competitors are games like ActionPC Football (very good one, more detailed and updated every year, but more expensive) and Strat Football.  I have all of them so I like them all for different reasons.  Believe they still have a demo where you can try SAT so worth a shot trying it out before you buy.

I am a 50 year Packer fan and knew they would get blown away.

Defenses win games. It doesn't matter how many points you can score if they can score more.

The Packer defense was not great to begin with and then add all the injuries.

I still cannot believe they 'ran the table' like rogers said they would.

I am not a huge Rogers fan, but I think he deserves the MVP.
