I've been expecting Russia to upgrade its military in the north as/if the weather becomes more lenient for it. Certainly it's the smart thing to do, to start capitalizing on those resources asap. (As an aside, I've read in a few places that there are whole islands comprised of jumbled-up fossils up there, which the recent minor ice age has obscured which might be uncovered for further research if the weather warms sufficiently!)

That FB site's prior review of Thunder on the Dnepr, one of Glantz' sourcebooks, is quite nice, too! I "followed" quickly.  O0
