Power Ballads Bracket - Sock Rocket Region

It's March Madness time and there are brackets everywhere.  Everyone you know is filling one out.  And, inevitably, yours will be busted soon after the tourney starts.  So come inside and let your sorrow drain away with the Power Ballad Bracket!  Remember your youth and that special girl, or guy, you gave your heart to with these songs.  The rules are simple: 1 vote for each matchup.  Please vote once for each matchup.  Ties will go to the higher seed.  The choices are listed in seed order, from 1 to 16.  Each round ends the same time as the NCAA rounds do.  So, the first round ends Friday.  The second ends Sunday.  And at the end of the round, the results will be displayed and we will move on to the next round.  By the time the winners in the NCAA are cutting down the nets, we'll know which Power Ballad stands alone at the top!  So, pull up a chair, crank up the speakers and grab the hair spray and denim.  We're going ballading!

(And for those of you who may be interested, a small, select, panel came up with the entrants as well as the seeding.  If you don't agree, then vote for your favorite and hope it comes out on top.)

Gotta vote Firehouse and show some NC support

Gotta NEVER vote for that Bad English song.  It was their biggest hit and their worst song.  3 guys I other wise like - Waite, Schon, Cain - form a decent rock band, and put out an uneven album of heavy pop, and they only thing they're remembered for is a godawful pile of dreck "love song"

That bracket wasn't up yet I don't think.  And if the bracket lords truly lived thru the cheese of White Lion they would've know that while "Wait" is a romantic tune, it's not a power ballad.

And the leader singer got left at the arena one night in San Francisco and had a bum a ride to the airport from my old boss, back when he was still working for Metal Rendezvous magazine :)

It may not have been up yet when you replied.  It was a little time consuming putting this all together.  And regardless of your assertion on 'Wait,' cheese it is and cheese was an underlying theme of what we were shooting for.  I chose, 'Power Ballads,' more for an easy connection than for any other reason.  I could have called it, 'Songs we all know, and gave to our girlfriends, who broke up with us at some point, so now we hate these songs more for their emotional meaning to us rather than the almost universal terrible-ness of the songs themselves.'  I mean, we've got THREE GnR songs in this thing and we all know how terrible those f*ckers are!
