Foreigner, a total surprise to me even with the 3 seed, took out the juggernaut that was Amanda and Boston, the 8. And GnR places one of their two entries from the Elite 8, Sweet Child O' Mine, a 1 seed, by the YUGE margin of...a tie, over Heart, the 10 seed.

I suspect Brant had something to do with it. That, or only 6 people voted and they split the votes evenly.

You certainly could have dissuaded people for voting their musical conscience with another spectacular rumination on the awesomeness of Tons Of Poseurs. (If none of you know what I am talking about, it's because it was posted on the front page.) Or maybe it was just that 6 people voted and 3 voted for a great song and the rest voted for Guns n Roses.

if you re-read my kickass defense of their songwriting, you'll notice that it's pretty rare that I'm mentioning any of the hits.

But hey, if you want to try to defend the, uh...'stellar' lyrics of "I Want To Know What Love Is" up against "Locomotive" or "Garden of Eden" or "Civil War" or "Crash Diet" you go right ahead. I'll be sitting over here judgmentally chuckling in your direction

I stated in the original post at the beginning of the bracket that ties would go to the higher seed. I have not reiterated it since. Not the best way to do things, I guess, but, I expected a lot more voters. Not 6.

Beyond the first album, I don't like Guns n Roses at all. 'Appetite...' captured a period in my life that is treasured, so it remains above my hate for GnR. So, I am not the target audience for your defense of Axl.
