Hope they can fix the crashing issue with AMD 7970 cards.

I dunno what they did with the gfx engine since Shogun 2, but it got worse somehow for most everyone.  NTW looked better IMO.  In CA's strive to add more BS post-processing effects, they also managed to make things less sharp & more blurry-looking besides originally screwing up anti-aliasing.

They still obviously haven't fixed the graphics screwiness in S2TW, and judging by their past tendencies to leave games bugged, it'll probably stay that way now that their new game is announced and all hands turn towards that one.

It worked with 7970 cards up until the release of Fall of the Samurai when everything stopped working.  Because it was a Steam release, your game got "updated" whether you purchased FOTS or not and there's no way to roll it back to make it playable.  Bloody annoying.

Although I like Rome and welcome it, still kind of wished some new material.   I guess this means empire 2 and Napoleon 2 next up:(
No way.  Not that we probably won't see a sequel to one or both of them eventually, but I'm willing to bet that doesn't happen anytime this decade.

Here's hoping the following Total War game is about ancient Greece or China!  (Probably China, as Greece would probably be too "close" to Rome.)

WW1 Total War would be a nice evolution of the franchise if they did it right.
No.  No it would not.  Modern warfare cannot be properly represented in a TW title.

^FotS does a good job at almost-modern warfare. My most favorite TW iteration.

hhmm...in the next decade? :)  They are releasing basically a new (or redone) title every year so I think my odds might be good they will release a remake of one (if not both) of these titles within the next 10 releases. Might have to take that bet since they have or in the process of doing a second version of all their games they have previously released.

Why not a total war set on the 16th and 17th centuries in europe? Bridge the gap between M2 and Empire. Lots of different nations, evolving technologies and strategies....I've only asked them like a million times...sigh...

Do you think they would ever do a game with a Fantasy setting?

^There are a ton of fantasy mods available, mostly for Medieval 2...the demand is definitely there.

Yeah I know.  I absolutely love Third Age Total War.

Sir Slash

Second Third Age TW. It has the most difficult to beat AI of any TW game in my humble opinion. As well as a ton of polish. And Balrogs!!!

I said *this* decade, not the *next* decade.  An important distinction.  ;)

I'd love it if they did.  I'd play the shit out of that.

It'll be years, though; possibly never...

Ulfang

I'm happy as this is what I was hoping for when Shogun 2 was announced. There's been a Medieval 2 and a Shogun 2 so it was only fair Rome was next. Can't wait till next year.
