Hard to feel any sympathy for dumbasses that buy property in flood zones.....

I agree, but to be fair some of these areas were not historically prone to flooding when they were built. Since January, there have been two record high tides in Boston (today being the second).

There are low-lying areas of Portland that regularly flood now that almost never flooded 20-25 years ago.

I do agree though, there has been far too much development in coastal flood zones.
