Looking for Recommendations on Battlestar Galactica Deadlock

Could people give me their thoughts on Battlestar Galactica Deadlock and if it is worth buying.

Wait for a sale.

Looks nice but there isn't enough of a progression system to keep it interesting for very long and it quickly becomes repetitive.

Overall, I like it.  Decent combat system, and great immersion/atmosphere if you're a BSG fan. 

However, I devoutly wish it had a true grand campaign.  The lack of one limits replayability, as SDR noted.

I dearly wish this milieu was fleshed out/ used a smidge more.

I'm a straight up sucker for this kind of thing and I blame Saberhagen and Dick squarely for this problem.

Full disclosure: I was a tester.
I enjoyed it immensely and purchased it right after testing ended.
If you are a battlestar fan and love WEGO systems (combat mission cmx2) then this is perfect for you.
The single player campaign is great but the multiplayer I don't think is that engrossing. Although some disagree.

I dearly hope their is a sequel.

I picked it up, with its expansion pack, on my combined Christmas / loyalty discount this year. (Haven't gotten around to playing it yet.)

That tactical battles really are quite engaging, much moreso than its predecessor line of games in the Star Hammer range. I think laying on the BSG theme and the strategic layer is very well done. It has its flaws, but for WEGO turn based space battles (especially in the more military sci-fi mould of BSG) it is very engaging. IMHO The DLC adds a little more sauce on top of what is already a fine tactical experience - deployable prox mines give you a bit more control over the 3-d space and force AI enemy to be channelled a little better.

Maybe this should go under another topic but anyway.  I can not download any patches from Matrix or Slitherine using my Windows 10 computer.  I am using Edge as the bowser and McAfee Internal Security.  The games and the expansions can be downloaded just not the patches.  I have to use my Windows 7 machine to do that.  There must be a security setting that I cannot find that should be reset to do this, but I am at a loss of what to do.

Run the game as Administrator, so right click the shortcut on the desktop and select "Run As Administrator".

When it runs, Check for updates, should be running as Admin then.

Worth a try.

The last update to Edge did some wacky things... at least to my install.

Try manually downloading the updates from Matrix with IE11. You can access it by clicking the 3 dots in the upper right corner of Edge, then select "Open with Internet Explorer".
Should work even with your Win 10 setup.
