It's a little scary to think that someone with that severity of anxiety and depression was working on a nuclear sub. He was on a combination of drugs for anxiety, depression, sleep and allergies. Who the hell knows how those were interacting. It seems safe to say not well.

Saw a report on TV the other day that there are tens of millions of Americans with anxiety (probably over diagnosed). Most manage not to set fire to their work if they want to leave early ;)

I have personally known Anxiety, give her redwine and a good romping and she's good to go for a few days all calm and peaceful like.

I am personally 'struggling' with allergies right now. I typically don't take anything for them even though they are really annoying because I don't want to set my nuclear sub on fire.

Look, you only get to set the sub on fire if you don't like the hours.

You sound like my mother-in-law (with whom I actually get along quite well). She has a few quirks (don't we all?). One of them is that, if a doctor gives her medication, she either won't take it all (I think I finally cured her of doing that with her antibiotics, thankfully) or she'll cut up the dose. When given 5 mg of Zyrtec, she'd cut the pill in half. I used to tease her that she needed to get a razor blade and shave off the thinnest slice, since 2.5 mg was probably far too much.

Anyway, there is over the counter medicine which will work wonders on allergies. However, I'm not going to recommend any to you since you remind me of her. Enjoy!

It all seems a bit over the top and pointless. This guy seems a few cards short of a deck. He's not going to be able to make the restitution, so why order it? Pointless. If he's backwards or just plain nuts, then it would be better to get the guy treatment so he can lead a useful life. I can't see the value in keeping him inside at the State's expense, when he could be treated for his mental problems and incarcerated  for a shorter period as a "lesson" - unless of course he is a serial arsonist and the public  actually needs protection.
