another +1 for Fanatical's reliability.  Bought CMO through them and many other games for Steam.

Bringing this back to life as I am slowly getting back into CMANO after a break of 18 months
Is there a resource to figure out all the nifty new tools like mission planners fleet editors etc  especially anything that's come out in the last two years
Are campaigns no longer linked to how you did in the scenario  meaning you can play any scenario in the DLC campaigns instead of sequentially and only progressing to the next scenario if you reach a certain score

I have the core concepts still down but all the new stuff is confusing me

Any help appreciated

You can play the individual scenarios of a campaign without playing the entire campaign.  To do so, simply select "Start a New Game" (the red arrow on the image below), then "Scenarios" (the yellow arrow on the image below), then pick your scenario in the campaign you want (the Green arrow)

As far as learning the new features, the Multi-Domain Strike Planner tutorial is the best intro to that feature. (red arrow below):

Phil Gatcomb's tutorial videos are frequently praised: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLumwWCWlwh39mBwwGJh-LE4_KWwLobkoT

There is a separate tutorial playlist specifically for the Tiny / War Planner / v1.05 update, which was a free 2.0 release in all-but-name: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAKZM4TQoufnIgvWz_-WojEAJKT32JBuc

If you're already caught up on Tiny, the summaries of the subsequent v1.06 and v1.07 updates are worth having a look at:

My game keeps crashing due to a conflict with Nahimic sound software.  Is there a plan for a patch that will make the game compatible?

Unfortunately that's largely out of our control. Nahimic has a bad tendency to forcibly insert overlays on the rendering surfaces of other apps, in this case disturbing Command's rendering loop. We have tried to compensate for this without success. We've notified MSI about this but haven't heard back from them.

As a temporary workaround, please shut down all the Nahimic processes before running Command.

I know it's not a particularly satisfying solution, but I have Nahimic and I just close it before launching CMO.

Silent Disapproval Robot

How are you closing it?   I go into Task Manager, hit End Task then Disable but it keeps restarting.

Was looking at restarting Command Modern Operations in anticipation of playing it multiplayer. So I downloaded and loaded it. Everything on defaults.
It ramps my CPU temps up and joining their discord does not seem to work... the welcome tick won't click.
Anybody played CMO lately and finding their temps are affected? I have tried the public and betas builds to see if this alleviated the problem.
I know the game is CPU rather than GPU intensive and that system requirements have changed over the years since I last loaded it. But it is jolly interesting to see a 2D game that appears not to be doing any calcs sitting at the menu like this.

How much CPU does it take while idling?

Dimitris

1) CMO is a fully 3D game. Pull the camera back/high enough and you will see if for yourself :)

2) The high use of a single core while idle is a known issue, resulting from some fixes on some other issues. We knowingly accepted this small problem in order to fix other much bigger ones. Just another day in software engineering.

3) In case it was not previously noticed: We now have integrated real-time multiplayer, both PvP and coop :)

A single core 100% busy 100% of the time is still a big problem. Especially if it is a performance core on a big.little architecture. And it does of course kick in full turbo mode. That's quite a bit of power drained and heating up the room.

Dimitris

Your concern is heard and acknowledged.

Now how about playing the actual game? And enjoying the new multiplayer mode :)

Thanks Dimitris. Anything I can do to help?

I should clarify that other games can be played at a significant load of 40% or more on the first core with no temp issues. Usually though these games are spread across cores though, but most cores including the first one will be between 20% and 40%.

CMO seems to be at 10-15% utilisation and only on the first core while sending temps to what is an acceptable level for the CPU type I have, but double what most other games cause including high end ones. I just had the most cores over 50% utilisation including the first core for space marine 2 set to ultra settings in a mission shooting at stuff for half the temp load.

I am wondering because I undervolted my CPU because of CPU heat issues due to poor architecture (bottleneck) if CMO is somehow undoing that and sending the voltage on the cpu up somehow. I have not had time to check that out though.

I'd love to enjoy the new multiplayer mode, with the fans and temperature like they are constantly I will have to wait until the issue is fixed.    It sounds like you guys know what you need to do to fix  this. It's just a matter of time.
