One of my favorite bands, Scottish band Deacon Blue, released a new cd a few months ago and i didn't see it!  :pullhair:

Anyhow, bought the new record yesterday. Here are the first two singles:

and

Gamingwise, i am not so sure. Probably:

- Horizon
- Empire Total War (finishing the conquest of the Americas)
- Maybe Port Royale 3, the adventurer campaign.
- Maybe some Pax Nova with the new patch.

Have a great weekend guys.

Stay alive.

Man, those songs took me back over 30 years!

I won't get much game time in this weekend, as I'm off to Wisconsin.  Upon my return, however, I'll probably continue a theme I started a couple days ago, which is playing old games with new mods (or at least mods I've not played before):

First off is Birth of the Federation with the Mirror Universe mod.  Playing as the Terran Empire is an interesting experience so far...

Also on deck is Medieval Total War (Gold Edition) with the Game of Thrones mod.  I'm not really a fan of the 'verse, but the mod itself looks well put-together, and I'm curious to try something a little different from the XL mod (my usual favorite).

I was sure I had CD's of Deacon Blue as I like their sound but couldn't find any in my collection.   It seems I mixed them up with a similar sound : Prefab Sprout.

If you bought the record as a CD or LP it is nice to see I'm not the only person on the planet that still buys music in a physical form.

For gaming I will return to DCS to try it out with the Stream Deck that got delivered today.

Yeah, i still buy the CDs of my favorite bands. I have a very large collection of cds.

"Dignity"  was an epic song that accompanied me through my first year in work after finishing university. Made many a London commute tolerable on my Walkman :)

For gaming my very first victory after many attempts at "Shadow Empire" is hopefully on its way, unless I screw it up (this is on BEGINNER level :wow:)....I haven't had to play a strategy game on beginner for about 30 years but this game is definitely a special case !

I still buy CDs but far fewer than I used to.

Got my ass handed to me as Himyar in Attila Total War for making the mistake of taking a city that was allied to the Sassanids. Game over as the whole board hoarded me and crushed me into oblivion. I was pretty pissed at myself for not being more diplomatically careful.

Before trying Himyar again I started a Last Roman campaign as the Vandals...still alive after a dozen turns!

May also fire up AssCreed Origins and some Field of Glory 2.

Happy Fathers Day!

DCS...I'm struggling with module overload. There are so many planes I enjoy flying that control settings and cold start steps are starting to blend. I think 2 high fidelity aircraft is the max my brain can manage at a time. More than that, and my learning starts to go out the window.

Other than that, some more Shipbreakers, some Space Haven and maybe something 4x-ish?

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads and sons. Hard to believe it's been almost a year since I lost mine. Will be a difficult day.

Dammit Carl!

Outside of more plumbing/installation duties, I'm still chugging around virtual racetracks.

My fun thing to do now is put cars into races that they weren't designed for.  Old school open-wheeled Formula 1 cars on a Rally Cross track?  In a blizzard?  Sure!  Wheee! (slides into wall and then oncoming traffic)

Don't drive like me and have a good weekend, all.

I have been remiss in returning my pbem turns, so there's that. Also will be a lot of Shadow Empire as time allows, another day, another Vic beta fix patch, man is a beta machine. I noticed P.A.M.E.L.A just released from EA. I have about 25 hours of early access time but haven't played for over year. The game is a story driven game so didn't want to ruin the story. Might not be able to resist jumping in.

Here's the trailer. There is a survival aspect, and you can shoot back so i'm good. It's the usual main quest with side quests or go your own way type of thing.

I took today off, so yard work is on the docket. The big event for the weekend is my daughter wants to go fishing....wait...what. I'm not a fisher dude, i mean when i was younger...much younger, some friends fished, but it was always something you did while drinking beer, you know lawn chairs, couple of cases, shooting the breeze while wasting away a nice summer day.......aaaaaa...good times. Anyway, the last of the fishing gear i ordered came yesterday. Couple of poles, various hooks, other tackle stuff. Today were setting up the poles, putting the line on, hooks, weights, other stuff? Also taking a metal detector, so some fishing, metal detecting and hiking, should be awesome. Not real sure about how to set up these poles. Must be a youtube video on this stuff.

We'll be lake fishing for trout from the shore, any pointers from any groghead fisher dudes? Got a bunch of hooks of various sizes, and various bait type stuff, rubber looking fish, some spoons i think there called, some line weights, ect, ect.  So any tips to lend to the success of this venture :)

I plan on continuing to learn the ropes of Shadow Empire. Maybe feed my addiction for Shellshock Live. And throw a little The Division 2 somewhere in the weekend mix.

Have an enjoyable and safe Father's Day weekend, Grogs!

Probably very little gaming time this weekend so maybe TOAW 4 if I can work it in. Happy Father's Day, Fathers and... Mothers.  ^-^

Think I've changed my mind and am going to switch gears a bit - going to go for a Fall of the Samurai campaign and maybe some Order of Battle - Morning Sun. With a dash of Sniper Elite 4, maybe some Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts, Wings!, WWI Tank Crew...getting into a more modern mood.

Re: Fishing

Not much for advice as I blow chunks fishing.  Now, my Daughter is some kind of trout whisperer and when we go, I wind up on net/fetching duty as she just reels them in.

So far, we've just hit up trout ponds as we were just strictly going for food and not for hiking/boating/etc. but lady puts a hurting on them for sure.

Answering PBEM turns, playtesting some Schedlt '44 along with a couple of unnamed others, and if I have free gaming time it will be either the continuation of my Stellaris game, maybe give the new EUIV DLC a spin, or some Tiger on the Hunt

Dammit Carl, you got nothing for me :) ......should i put one of the orange rubber like bait thingy on the hook or the red one. Still have to youtube it. Fingers crossed that she's a trout whisperer, but now it looks like rain is going to happen so plan "B" might be in effect.
