The campaign continues, much to my surprise! I thought it would end with scenario 6. But we were sent off to defend a line and holy crap, it turned ugly. We learned all about how to defend against Japanese Banzai attacks and how brutally effective they are. You can watch two companies of Marines be evaporated in this playthrough. What a brutal realization of how effective the Japanese can be when they want to! We were successful, but at what cost indeed...

 The Greek holiday continues! Crete is an impressive place, there are lots of places for the Greeks and British to hide in the hills. They keep attacking though and some of their hits are quite impressive. The Germans are holding the line and have secured some key positions and doing their best to maintain some form of order during all the counter attacks. Due to the losses, we are starting to more effectively use the terrain to our advantage, although sometimes it seems the British have all the luck. On the bright side, we have some more reinforcements we can use to start the assault on Chanai!

It was a great campaign, we finally finished it. The last battle was a doozy and went right to the wire. We pushed our way through the jungle and coast as hard as we could. Our light tanks suffered terribly due to hidden Japanese engineers and very potent infantry with leaders. Even though the Japanese massed, the assaults failed and our last assault was victorious to scrape a major victory, concluding the linked campaign. After that, we played a defence as the Dutch against a Japanese assault. That was the first time playing the Dutch in a short scenario, learned a lot and would be happy to play them again!
