An unpublished piece of music titled "Ganz kleine Nachtmusik" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, likely composed during his adolescence, in the mid- to late-1760s, has been discovered this year in a German library by researchers.

As far as I know, this is the first Youtube presentation of it:

Can't you get cows or sheep to mow a pasture
Hog hunting sounds pretty cool. Reminds me I was reading about legionary symbols and that the Hog was a symbol often used for legions raised in the north of italy where the cisalpine gauls used to be. Apparelty the hog was a symbol of good luck or protection iic.

Aficionados of the game will see that I'm racking up a spiralling debt, in part through sustaining too large an army which will (in a couple of turns) lead to my bankrupting the company (the East India Company incidentally). At that stage its just a case of which family escapes with the least damage from the collapse. Great game by a guy Cole Wherle who is quickly becoming one of my favourite game designers.

Re. cows/sheep. They do not do well in this country. This is goat country. Plus I'd have to keep the fences up. I have a bit over 300 acres and there are probably less than 300 sq ft that are flat. And almost all of it is covered in cactus, cedar and a bit of oak. The few open areas are mostly crummy KR Bluestem grass, though I seed with native grasses every year. I clear some every year and mow what I have cleared to promote habitat for turkey and white tailed deer. Sadly the coyotes and hogs seem to benefit the most. And the aoudad, who seem the best adapted of all. The animal I have the most of is hogs. At least when I mow I have a clear field of fire. Trapping has not helped. We never made a dent in the population until some relatives started using ARs. Between hogs and the coyotes (who, BTW, are much smarter than people) our deer population has never recovered to the levels we had in the 1960s and 70s. Still hardly ever get a shot at a coyote.

And hogs are ferocious, tenacious, tough, delicious and smart. Great symbols/totems for any organization. And they adapt and outbreed almost everything else. Zombie apocalypse =  biggest hog feast ever. Zombies do not stand a chance. And if things go nuclear, it will be the hogs and rats battling mutated cockroaches for supremacy.

Interesting read. We have the opposite. The Deer population are now considered pests because they are in such numbers apparently.

Tried Total War divide et impera and the battles are somewhat enjoyable but everything still seems too much like slidey stick figures with washed out colours and too much detail removed at a distance. They make great stills though. I mean I zoom out a little way and my troops turn a totally different colour as I zoom away.
