Looks interesting. It's real time apparently. I would be super interested if it was multiplayer coop even more so.

Not much info on the steam page.

Tag says PVE and real tome so perhaps this could be really good.

Hmm, "RTS" and "...over 150 missions...."  Neither of those statements is giving me a warm fuzzy feeling.  Would dearly love to be wrong, however.

Yikes!

What if by real time they meant correctible WEGO?

So Nappy Combat Mission? -- that would be highly interesting!

QuoteTo provide full immersion of battlefield command, we've combined turn-based elements like hexagonal grid movement with the simultaneous actions characteristic of RTS. This results in gameplay with a more deliberate pace, where quick reflexes aren't essential—only a keen strategic mind.

Watching the footage on the Steam page, though, it can't be Combat Mission turn-based WEGO: the different units seem to be sitting on pause until told to do something on the hex grid, at which point they animate an attack. But the animated attacks look to seem still be going on as other paused units are given commands. It's a little confusing to understand, but looks like a 3D panzer-general engine (like Fantasy Wars/Elven Legacy or the Strategic Mind series) with animated attack/defend, except the animations are still possibly going on while other pieces are given their go-orders.

That's where I had hoped the reaction to the predetermined wego moves could be made by available troops without orders.

A dev just answered some questions on the steam forums. Apparently no active pause but escape does allow pause of a kind for reviewing stats and such.
They do plan to add coop and pvp at some point and this is the reason they have no active pause.

Sides are russia, france, turkey and sweden of which all sides can be played in all campaigns.

Studio is apparently very small.

I don't think it's SSI's "Battles of Napoleon" updated (that would be heaven in my mind).

https://archive.org/details/Battles_of_Napoleon_1988_SSI_Disk_1_of_3_Side_A#:~:text=Battles%20of%20Napoleon%20is%20a%20historical%20wargame%20that%20lets%20you

It seems more like "Fantasy General II" with Napoleonic tailors. The graphics overall seem pleasing enough, and the dev is making at least some attempt at getting uniform and unit types right.

Anyway, if the price is right, I might partake.

^ Alas, not on GoG yet.

Relatedly, I learned that the only game with "Napoleon" in the title listed on GoG is a Mount and Blade mod!

(I know they do have some games with Nappy era battles.)

Two nice, but very dated Napoleonic games on GOG are:

-Imperial Glory: kind of a light version of a "Total War" game. Combines tactical battles and grand strategy. It is not perfect, but I remember having fun with it.

-Fields of Glory: Old Microprose title. Real-time Battle of Waterloo. Not bad if you are OK with a game from the last century (1993).

Both games are on sale at the moment, and you can get both for the price of a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

God knows, I loved Battles of Napoleon!  :Dreamer:

I don't know what to think of this now. Battles have a maximum of 7 units and must be solved in 10 minutes according to the forum.

Count me interested.

From the screenshots the game kind of reminds me of Koei's Nobunaga's Ambition series and if that is the case here then the real time combat will be very manageable for older slower gamers.
