Thanks guys, I've never gifted anything on Steam before. Does anyone want a copy of Civ V or Half Life 2? When I check gift page I have 1 extra copy of both.

I'm actually getting more exited for X-Com to release as it gets closer. I listed to some old TMA episodes at work today about both classic X-Com and JA2. Does anyone know if the new X-Com will be moddable?

Hmmm...if you go in to the gifting stuff I told you about before and choose 'Gift to a friend',  you can actually scroll through your Steam Friends list and see if anyone has either Civ V or HL2 on their wishlist.

Not sure about modding, but I'm fairly optimistic on that front seeing as people were already modding the demo.

Yep, I'm in the same boat. It sounds like this is actually going to go live sometime on the evening of the 8th, similar to what happened with Borderlands 2.

Too bad it won't go live for non-Americans at that time. :(
In fact, I've been reading they might postpone the release from the 11th (the original promised date) to the 12th.

Ok I just saw some video previews of this game and I've added it to my list.  I'll be getting XBOX version however as I am hungry for cheevos and STEAM achievements just don't cut it for me.

Yep - it actually shows 12th now on Steam!

I would've pre-ordered this if it was available on Tuesday - as I said I'm off work for the week - but as it's not released until I'm back - it's kind of put me off - so I will be holding out. I was so so tempted too...but still - I'll wait until all you pre-orderers tell me how awesome it is

Me too...seems like a midnight release.  Wish it would release a few hours early.

That's midnight Eastern time. So figure that in accordingly for your time zone.

That means 10 PM for me. Hell with it, I'm burning some sick days.  :)
