And then try to get your inheritance laws changed so that your first-born gets the whole dealio in the future.  Hopefully he's not a sickly, possessed and hunchbacked guy who avoids the company of the fairer sex, has a Diplo rating of 1, and regularly attempts to kill you.  :P

On an equally cheerful note, the crown law system isn't yet where it should be IMO since the biggest ruler in your area has a large effect on what you can do - even if he's in a completely different kingdom than yours.  :-\

Would change the laws if I could. Unfortunately, crown laws in the HRE prevent me from doing that at the moment. If only I could just get the Duchy of Lombardy under my direct control. I could then declare independence and stand a reasonably good chance of being able to hold off HRE armies that would be sent to show me the errors of my ways.

One more question, I just noticed that my duchesses husband is the heir to some duchy in Denmark. When he inherits would those lands become mine? I arranged their marriage as a matrilineal one, so I would assume those lands would go back to the Kingdom of Denmark when the duchesses husband dies.
PanzersEast: Have to think to myself.... will I play the first one by the Winter Sale?  Probably not, then I should remove Dragonfall
PanzersEast: but that is thinking too logically.... and Steam Sales are about ignoring Logic

My ultimate goal would be to lead the British Isles uniting it all from Ireland, but I first need to take over my island.

I don't think you get those in a matrilineal marriage.  I could well be wrong as I don't recall having that exact situation before.

As stated, you may get a claim on them but I wouldn't even count on that.   Your next-in-line would likely have a claim on it, if not inherit it outright after both parents die.
