A great shame that it is a time limited event. But war of rights will be having an event where you can play redcoats or rebels.

The way the British are marching around with packs and fighting kinda reminds me of empire total war. Would the soldiers have fought with packs on?

A lot of people are pointing out that horses are still not in.

Yes. It would depend on the tactical situation. 18th century soldiers sometimes had to fight with their packs on if they were not in close proximity to a fort or supply area. They needed to carry food, ammo, water, supplies, bedding, etc. when in the field so sometimes by necessity they went into battle with packs.

I thought standard procedure might be to harbour the packs somewhere for a battle or throw them in a cart. But getting back to that place after a battle would be the problem. So i'd definitely prefer to keep mine with me.
They do look cooler with their packs on.

Now that would be a dream come true. Unfortunately SOW:W remastered for me is a kind of mixed bag currently.

For me, War of Rights is a lot like Eve: Online.  I enjoy reading about the ridiculous exploits after the fact but playing the game is just an absolute chore.  I just don't find any enjoyment from virtual walking for 5 minutes, standing in a line, firing once then watching an interminably long re-load animation and then just repeating until dead and starting the stroll all over again.  Added bonus is a comms system that's so jammed full of idiotic banter, crappy low fidelity MP3 sound clips, and cross-talk that you can't make out any semblance of orders. 

Looks nice in screen shots and some YT vids but actual play?  Not so much...

Completely agree. It is a shame. But I can put up with only playing it once a year. I don't play war of rights much these days. Development is too slow to keep my interest. Cavalry are still not in game and thus cannon don't have a way to move and their is not mobile element either. This limits tactical and strategic options.

War of Rights is a best of breed though. If I had to choose one FPS game from the musket and shot era this would be the one I would stick with. The line and order system are excellent and the game is beautiful.
