Slitherine/Matrix Anniversary coupon. Where are you?

I await my Slitherine/Matrix Anniversary coupon at around the end of the month of March. Nothing so far. It's been a courtesy. If they've stopped sending them out then that's fine. Checked the spam folder too. Maybe I don't make enough purchases throughout the year. I guess times must be tough.

If I recall, you can go to "My Page" in the Matrix store and retrieve your coupon number.

Good idea. I checked the anniversary coupons list but didn't see anything from 2026.

I sent a support email just to see what's up. Perhaps I'm not spending like a preferred customer. I'll update when I hear anything.

I believe I only purchased one game from them last year and still got my usual coupon at Christmas.  In fact that one game may have used the Christmas 2024 coupon.

I had a look, and I "should" have had mine last September.  However, it's not obvious from my account when I last bought a game. I wouldn't be surprised/upset if issuing the coupon was dependent on purchasing activity.

I always buy Sliterine/Matrix titles direct from their store, then I activate them on Steam. Did anyone ever just start buying from Steam instead? Especially with their more frequent sales prices?

I still try buy direct from Matrix, as it gives them an additional profit by cutting out Steam.  And they have been very supportive of the gaming hobby, as well as supporting the professional/national security side of hobby gaming.

I hope activating the key on Steam does not cut into Slitherine's profits. I always wonder.

I heard back from Slitherine support. They have been having issues with the coupon system.

"Yes, unfortunately we are having issues with the coupon system. We are looking into this and hoping of getting a workaround or alternate system in place, but for now we do not know when this will be available. Once we know more, I will let you know."

I will do the same.

Hm, I hadn't thought about how simply activating the code on Steam might cut into M/S profits, but there could be a nominal percentage charge or something.

I buy my Matrix games directly from them, usually on their Winter sale combined with my anniversary coupon. Which...... well, cuts into their profits, I guess. But by an agreed amount. (And I've bought plenty from them at normal sales once upon a time.)

My anniversary coupon usually comes Mar 27 and I contacted them earlier this week and got the same answer.
The Slitherine web store and "My Site" sections haven't changed in many years, I wouldn't be surprised if some software package they use stopped being updated and finally broke.
Hope they get it fixed, the anniversary coupon was always a nice benefit I looked forward to buy something I wasn't sure about at full price during the year but was worth a try with the big discount.
I'll continue to buy from their store as long as they can generate the Steam keys after buying, if that web site function stops working then it's a deal breaker for me as I prefer Steam long term for updates and reinstalls.
