This is a board game.  Its a lot of fun.  The system makes for some wild combat and diplomatic results.  Lots of fun in a group.

Slowly creeping up to the system discovery limit before the game triggers aether raiders in Aurora 4x

I will stop at the threshold and build a few experimental combat ships - I've always used missiles and am looking to switch that to lasers and maybe carriers with fighters on board

And slowly getting my head around Solar Nations 2 - I've got 2 areas on the moon, Phobos and have just settled a team down in asteroid belt B whilst with stabilises

All good practice for the new 2003 start in terra invicta although I will admit to task force admiral scratching the big WITP AE itch

I got rear-ended while parked by an octogenarian hillbilly in a pickup almost 3 weeks ago.  Been dealing with insurance hassles, rental cars, and the world's slowest auto-body repair shop since.  I've been taking my frustrations out on virtual mercenaries in Incursion: Red River and by dropping artillery on all the things in Iron Nest.

I don't know if it's the same there as UK but some time ago I'd just taken on a brand new company car only for the doink across the street to reverse into it - it took 8 weeks to get one panel above the rear wheel arch done - by the time they'd done with all the hire car nonsense and everything else the bill was 7000 pounds - apparently the insurance company makes money off the hire car provision and bills it back to the fault owner and their insurance - the longer the better

It's different here.  We have "no fault" insurance so responsible drivers get the pleasure of watching their yearly rates go up to pay for the failings of others because anything else wouldn't foster a spirit of "equity" or something.  Also, the government has a monopoly on insurance.  Basically, they look at what the resale value of your car is.  If the repairs are less, they pay to fix it.  If it's more, they write the car off.  The scam is that repair shops will then submit a "Price is Right" bill trying to get as close to the write-off price as they can without going over.  The shop that has my car initially told me 3-4 days to get replacement parts then 8-9 business days to fix it.  Then, 4 days later it went to "we're still waiting on parts and then it'll be 23 business days to fix".
