It appears the developer, NovaCore, has gone under.  So no more updates/patches for LoP.

Damn it all.  And this one had looked so promising...  :(

Wow.  This sucks.  I was wondering why things had gone quiet.

MIGMaster

I had heard so many different takes on the game, but I was hoping that it would be one of those games that would evolve into something decent...

LongBlade

I sorry to read that news. I never like to see game studios close.

undercovergeek

was it not playable at its most recent update?

Huw the Poo

I probably would've bought this at some point despite the lukewarm reception.  Oh well. :(

Bison

It seems like they may have failen victim of attempting to be overly ambitious with the design.  Perhaps a slightly scaled back game and DLC/Expansion packs to add on content features would have allowed for a more stable base game.  Just a crazy theory on my part.

Sad to see another shop close.

Too bad, as I thought there were some nice ideas here.

Nice to see you Martok.

Ugh.  I guess this means no more updates for Real Warfare: Northern Crusades, too.  :'(

Greybriar

Regardless of how good a PC game may be it will always have its detractors and no matter how bad a PC game may be it will always have its fans.

That largely seems to depend on who you ask.  I gather it's very much a YMMV situation.

Yeah, me too.  Despite a bad release, LoP included a number of mechanics and gameplay I found interesting.

Thanks SoM.  It's good to be here, even if I'm going to have very little time for posting these next few days.

Read a few posts over at Kalypso.  Steam started giving refunds to the persistent.

That's almost non-existant.  Must be a bad situation.  :-[

Huw the Poo

Heh, true that.  I don't think Steam ever does that unless the game is pretty much broken beyond repair.  Oh dear.

Jarhead0331

This is really devastating because the game has so much potential. So many great ideas and a great seamless transition from turn-based strategic play to real-time space battles.  LoP did this better than any other game before it. if only they had a little more time to work out all the kinks.   :'(
