Of course, it's for a train that derailed and spilled toxic chemicals all over, but still...you're not likely to hear of Paulsboro, NJ any other time on national news.

"PAULSBORO, N.J. (AP) — A freight train derailed Friday on a railroad bridge that has had problems before, toppling tanker cars partially into a creek and causing a leak of hazardous gas that was blamed for sickening dozens of people, authorities said."

That's because your girlfriend is Union County (which is North or Central Jersey, depending on how you look at the tap). Those are suburbs of NY. South Jersey is the Philly suburbs. Jersey is really two states with the DMZ around Trenton.

I heard on the local radio station here during their news break that they've had to evacuate even more people from the area.  My aunt and uncle were evacuated during the intial evacuation.  My gmom and gpop are still in their house a few blocks away.  My mom is out here with me visiting, so she's good to go. 

My mom's house there is like 5 blocks from where that spill occurred.  Too wierd.  But it is cool to see Paulsboro in the news.  Like JH said, it is a really, really small town.

Sorry to hear that. Not surprised. They had a couple of women on TV who worked at a convenience store outside the evac area who were complaining of symptoms. Clearly the area wasn't big enough.
