My issue is that gaining a county or title is depended on pressing it through war.  You do and win a 100% warscore.  There is no seige ongoing because there is no levy left and yet the defender will not give into to terms other than white peace or surrender.  Eventually they will give better terms and fall under your Dukedom or whatnot however the title never comes as a result.  I've had blood lines that fill a title's lineage, but the title still remains outside of my control.  I'm sure there is a simple thing or five that I'm overlooking.  It gets old having to have a 1-2K+ army sitting for at least a year before terms are made by them (the loser) that don't screw the winner over.

It's been a bit since I last played, but, one you get that 100% Warscore, you should be able to end the war on your terms.  And look at the de Jure Counties that make up the Dukedom or Kingdom.  Once you own a majority, you should be able to usurp the title.

I've yet to get my terms in ending a war to include within my own kingdom even with a warscore that is 100%.   There has to be something I'm missing and I'm just not seeing it.

Are you involved in someone elses war?  Or is it one that you started?

My wars have been of two types.  Me using a CB to attempt and gain a county I have a claim on or a county in my Dukedom declaring themselves Independent and attacking me.  I haven't yet mettled in a call to war from an ally or the Pope.

MetalDog

Let's see if I remember rightly, once you conquer, if you have a claim to the territory being fought over, you will able to retain it as your own.  Once the Warscore reaches 100%, you should be able to click on the little face in the bottom right hand corner and get them to agree to what you want.  If not, try the Diplomacy(?) tab.  That should give you the options of Enforce Demands, White Peace or Surrender.

That's what I'm saying until I get the little face there is only the option for white peace or surrender.  Their offer, the little face, usually takes about a year to appear and then I get terms that would be like the enforce demands one but it never includes the title.

MetalDog

Use the Diplomacy tab to get your Enforce Demands option.  And you  have to go to the de Jure screen for the title.  For instance, the Duchy of Connacht consists of County Connacht and County Breifne.  If you click on the coat of arms for either of them, it will take you to the screen that shows what counties make up the Duchy.  Towards the top, there will be an option to usurp the title.  If you meet the criteria, you can take the title.

Haha.  I know but the enforce demands is ALWAYS greyed out.  I have yet to get to use that option.  I will look into the usurp option.

When you declare war, the window should give you options as to what you are fighting for, i.e. the intended end-result you want.  Make sure you're selecting the proper option because there can be different ones depending on situation.  Ideally, you are pressing a title claim for possession of said lands (not vassalization & such).  Once you've whipped 'em good, and siege most of the separate holdings within the county in question, they'll start sending peace offers that usually suck up until you've captured most or all of their besieged holdings there (you only cap one at a time so it takes awhile).  Don't bother accepting anything other than the enemy fully agreeing to the terms you specificed when you DOW'd him, unless of course, things have really gone south and you are on the receiving end.

I'll have to look at what I'm doing more closely.  Right now my goal is to unite Ireland and maybe work my way onto the English island onto the shores of the France.

LOL, good luck with that.  I united all of Scotland, then was called a pretender, had my throne taken from me, I got banished from my kingdom, and my 4 year old son/heir has been imprisoned by the new "king" for the last 12 years.

Now, playing a teenager who's been locked up with no end in sight for 12 years...that is some fun gaming.   ::)

Anyway, I'm gaming straight on through the apocalypse with War of the Roses and a Britannia campaign in M2TW.  Got the new Christmas two-handed sword that was on sale tonight and some new black plate mail, so I'm looking pretty styling now.

Hey I'm just about to start a M2TW Britannia campaign...probably as Ireland. What faction are you playing as?

When I saw your post that's what inspired me to give the campaign a play-through...I've never actually played it.

I'm going through as Scotland.
