Sir Slash

Gus. Watch-out for those damned Vikings/Norway. They'll really come after you.

^You're talking about in M2TW right? :)

I've played the campaign once through, but I don't remember what faction I used. This time I'm jonesing for Ireland, perhaps the Welsh.

I played through twice.  Once as the Scots and once as the Norsemen.  Good times.

Gusington

Took the Welsh...turns out the last playthrough I did was the Irish.

Well shove a fork in wish to be King of Ireland.  I couldn't pass on my Duke titles to a boy.  It seems you need to have one to do that.  Anywho I'm taking out my last county to make claims on the King title.  I die literally as the last defending troop is dying.  My daughter succeeds me and my cleverly crafted kingdom is torn asunder.  Seriously I kept popping out the daughters.  No sons.  Sad day in Ireland for me.  Time to reload from an earlier save!  :D

OK.  This is a pretty fun game.   It just took me awhile to get into it.

Sir Slash

Yeah Gus. I was talking about your M2TW campaign. When I played it, the Norse were very aggressive and had to be watched-out for always showing-up when and where you least expected them. When I tried playing them though, I was never able to be that successful. You're making me want to try it again though.

Once you're done playing Ireland (often considered "noob island"), start as some leader on the continent.   ;)  The variety of starts to choose from, especially with some DLC, can provide some interesting situations.   I don't even mind starting off as a vassal sometimes, as it's an extra challenge playing power games within your kingdom/empire and knowing who & when to support to make out with more influence (or attempt to break off on your own).

Bison

Yeah I've only played on Ireland specifically because I read it was a good place to learn the basic mechanics and how all the character relationships work.  Well I restarted and my Duke dude lived long enough to create the King title.  I figure out that if I disband a Duke title not only will I not loose it upon death but I can then recreate it later.  :D  Hell yeah.  Right now the Queen was able to basically take the last 6 or so counties by requesting them to become vassels.  Putting down a rebellion started by my worthless King and working on getting a claim on the Isle of Mann to begin my drive toward conquering the Big Isle.  There is still a lot of time where it's nothing of note going on but I'm learning to weed through the vassels needs and such during that time.

How do I do that screenshot everyone takes of their empire?  I cannot find the hotkey to get that world overview map with names on it.

If you zoom out far enough, names of Kingdoms and Empires will appear.

Have you tried Print Screen? I personally use Fraps for screenshots.
PanzersEast: Have to think to myself.... will I play the first one by the Winter Sale?  Probably not, then I should remove Dragonfall

Thanks Kushan, but I don't know if I'm asking the right way.  I guess what I'm looking for is the shot that you often see on the Paradox forums of a zoomed out world map that shows the kingdoms or nations without any UI just the map, colored and labelled by kingdom/nation/faction what have you.

MetalDog

Have you tried all the buttons around the mini map?

Martok I cannot remember what the fix is but look on the NWN forums or at gog forums and there is a work around.   It's really something very simple like alt/tab in and out of the game or some thing like that.

Martok

Thanks Bison.  I'll see what I can find out after I wake up tonight.

No UI at all??  That was probably the start screen where you choose which ruler to play.

That or they were zoomed way out and there's a UI hotkey toggle.
