I see this on sale steam.. Is this Tactical Battles like Xcom?.. Just wondering what the game play style is?

Nevermind.. my 13 year old just told me it's RT... weird for some reason I thought I heard it somewhere that it was xcom style..

It's not turn-based like X-Com, no.

The combat is more like the Neverwinter Nights series, albeit with a different RPG system in it of course.

Ohh those great times I had playing this one and its sequel.
It's a real shame they stopped after 1 sequel, and no one is making games like these anymore.
Or any serious "Superhero" simulations/games. :(

I thought it was cool because it was a superhero RPG with a little character customization in it.

Probably looks terrible these days, though, doesn't it?

I absolutely hate RT games, but I very much enjoyed Freedom Force. I found it fairly easy to direct your superheroes and it was a heck of a fun game. Worth your time and money imho.

Gosh darn you all.....I have always wanted to pick up....I see it is only about $3 for both versions. Now I might have to give it a whirl:)

Only 3 and change.. sold.. if anything can play it with my 13 year old, as I think he has it on his account..

I believe the game pauses and you can set orders/powers. There are also a number of awesome mods for everything from power effects to total game conversions. The Justice League mod was awesome.

It was never a graphics-centric game, so those cartoony graphics it has should not have aged as badly as most 3D games' graphics.

Freedom Force is the best superhero PC game ever. It is pauseable at any time. The first one had an absolutely classic 1960s era comic book story line.

This is one of my favorite RPGs of all time.
