Judge I agree with you on the devaluing of values in today's society.  In fact values appear to not be taught at all from what I see on a day to day basis. 

I don't know why society is devolving the way it is today, but it is devolving.  Curse those who say live and do what you want and what makes you feel good because at it's extreme we enter anarchy.  Maybe there is no room anymore for old fashioned thinkers like us.  I've been feeling kind of sad lately and that there is no point in trying to fight it. 

So I try to raise my kids the way I was raised and hope for the best.  At least no spawn of mine will contribute to society's decay.  That's my goal.

It's all we can do. I bring them up as I was brought up and hope my values stick and the values other kids are taught (or not) do not rub off on my kids.

Thankfully - my kids seem to be heading on the right path.
