I haven't played them in years. I had HOI and EU2. I got rid of the discs a during one of my clean up phases. Is HOI2 any good?

I never played the first one, but, from what I have read, it's quite a departure from the first HOI.  As for 2, it's the game I would have invented as a teenager, if I could invent stuff like that.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Yes, because things move rather slowly and you can issue commands while paused.

Yes, because things move rather slowly and you can issue commands while paused.

Thanks. I really hate the click fest games but I can deal with a slow paced real time game.

@Marty:  Just bear in mind that Sins is more combat-oriented, with some light 4x elements thrown in for flavor.  It's not as deep as a Paradox game, but the combat is beautiful to watch.

Marty Distant Worlds would be more comparible to those games then Sins of the Solar Empire IMHO.  Sins is a great game an very easy to manage but it's not as a deep a game as the ones you listed on a political/economic level.

That one looks like something up my alley. It reminds me a little of Space Empires IV.

I really enjoy DW.  It can get quit addictive to build and manage your empire.  The real plus is that you can make the game as micro or macro level of management as you want it to be depending on which aspects of the game you find most enjoyable.
